Who may I contact to do some engraving work on the bolsters and guards of my knives? Thanks, Larry

The back of every Blade Annual book has makers and specialties listed.
Also, a search for custom knife engraving might help. Posting a request in The Exchange - Services Wanted would be where to solicit someone from the people on Bladeforums.

There are many engravers forums online, and in BF there is Tinkering and Embellishment. You will find many engraving folks at those places, and can send a message to someone you might want to do your work.

Larry I have used a couple different Bit and Spur makers. Their style of engraving is a little different than what is commonly seen on knives. This Birds Head Santa Barabra bridle bit of mine is an example of Mike Vatalero's (Taps Bit and Spur Shop) work. Its engraved steel and inlaid with silver. Also pictured are a few of my knives he has done for me.

Thanks Dave, A ferrier friend of mine gave one of my knives to an engraver in Granite Station and she engraved bolsters for me in the western style. It is really nice but not exactly the style I was going for. It is more like the belt buckles that most cowboys wear. I am going to fill the background with flat black and call it good but I am going to look for an engraver whose style is more in line with the engraving that I like. To be fair I did not make any request or send along any pictures of engraving styles I like which I will next time. I just thought that I would ask the forum guys if they had any suggestions. I am going to follow up on this site for engravers. Thanks, Larry PS Your horse wears better "jewelry" than my wife! LL
