Who EDC’s a recon 1?

I used to edc the Recon 1 and large voyager for a few years in the early 2010s then i moved to lawman and other lawman sized knives i.e. the PM2/Manix2 or the Griptilian.

I carry my knives almost exclusively on my back pocket when i go out for work, and smaller knives works better. Back pocket carry also means that the width doesn’t really matter. In fact the wider knife is actually much more comfortable to carry and sit on.

I also carried a Medium Espada for a while, but for the size and weight, I would rather carry the Recon 1. But the lawman is still my go to EDC for the last 5 years.

I think it carries very well, fits my hand perfectly, and I dig the 4” compound grind.

They definitely seem to hold up to moderately hard use better than many, more expensive, brands.

That's what they are made for. The thing with the Triad lock is that it doesn't wear out, it wears-in -- getting smoother and potentially stronger with use. The downside is the force (and distance) required to disengage, and the cost and complexity of the lock.

I have 4 of them. Two Tantos, a spear point and the clip point. One of them is always on me. I wear scrubs 3 days a week for 12 hour shifts. No problem at all.

A Recon 1 Spearpoint PE or Tanto PS edge are two of my favorites in my EDC rotation. Unless I wearing very lightweight slacks, one of the recon 1s will be in my pocket. They are tough tools that perform and hold up. I really like the recon 1s.
