Who EDCs an Endura 4 FFG?

I fell in love with the Delica first. Got a purple FFG as my first Spyderco and it went all downhill from there ;) Always thought Delica would be the largest I would want to go for EDC. But I could NOT resist getting the orange Endura when it came out. It's such a fun color I thought it would be cool to no matter whether I would actually carry it or not. But to my surprise, I really liked the Endura and got used to the larger size pretty quickly since it's so light and just works great as an allround knife. And I gotta say I'm a real fan of Spyderco's FRN with the bidirectional texture. Fun colors, feels good, lightweight, cleans well and stands up well to use.

i dont have an endura but i have is po boy cousin the byrd cara cara 2 ffg, frn its a good edc for me long blade sharp light weight.

I've carried an endura since 92. I've tried replacing it but it seems to slip back in my pocket mysteriously. I don't fight it any more and just carry whatever other knife I want to carry along with it often in a belt pouch.

I really like the VG10 FFG version and find it sharpens so easily I can't get enough relaxation time out of it. I can go into the box and get out about any version made including my first FRN "G-2 ( Gin 1 steel) knife that is still very much edc'able. Out of all of them I like the newest FFG version best.

With proper cleaning and care these just get smoother and smoother with time. They're amazing, and I have yet to have one actually wear out. One version I carried for 6 years and it's still sitting there ready for it's turn in the pocket.

I think my likes and dislikes have changed a lot in the 20 years I've carried Enduras but the Enduras seem to have kept up with me the whole time.

Now, if I could get a sprint model in Super Blue & G10, or O-1 ( SKS 3 ).

I have 3 Enduras, one saber grind, two flat ground. All are ZDP 189, all have G-10 handles. Actually there are 3 extra Enduras made with the swapped out parts. These make excellent EDCs especially for lefties.

I liked some things about the Endura, I'm starting to like the feeling in hand of a choil-less handle more and more. The only thing I don't like about choil-less handes is that unless it's like the gayle bradley handle they tend look a bit aggressive. Choils effectively run some visual obfuscation the finger guard making a knife look a lot less like a weapon while still letting the knife be an effective ... forward cutter ;). I don't have any Benchmades (I'll probably get one) ... don't think I'm ever going to be a fan of them. I'm a big fan of the military and gayle bradley handles.

I think the endura blade could start out a bit thinner. If this knife is going to break it would be at the tip or at the pivot, no need for such beefyness. (Thinner = better slicer). That said I've never experimented with snapping blades, maybe it's warranted. Mine had vertical play which was annoying on a stout looking blade. I sent it in to W&R with a note saying they could replace it with a Dragonfly and they obliged - thanks Spyderco!:thumbup:

I would love a Super Blue Endura. That would be amazing.
