Who else edc's a small -5" neck knife ?

How about a tie knife

Yessssss!! The uber-tactical-tie! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for pointing it out.

Kiddings aside, I have two knives that could be considered neck knives. The first one is a CRKT Stiff KISS I bought sooooo long ago (like 17 years or so) that I recently modded adding some home-made micarta handles (yellow denim fabric). It doesn't cut very well, but at least now you can use it without it digging in your hand. The seath is made of some king of inyection molded plastic. Retention is nice.

The other one is a carbon steel, cocobolo handle, kydex sheath knife I got during a Knifemakers Christmas Exchange... from a fellow in the Us (I am in Spain). It is has like 2,5" of blade or so, maybe a bit more. Hollow ground. Great cutter. I have worn it neck knife style under a loose shirt while travelling in Morocco in my van. Just for the hell of it. Not that I hactuall y had a dire need for it or anything.

I don't quite find them so comfortable. A folder works soooo much better for me.

They don't have to be carried as a primary knife, but as a quick access blade for things like tape or string ( they take less time to draw, they save your edge, and they take the tape gunk so your primary edc doesn't have to )
I don't really understand how you didn't find any that cut good, because mine cuts extremely well and the blade is only 1" long.

I have a couple of neck knives that I might turn in to a modified sheepsfoot blade, taking some lenght off the blade. Those could serve as micro fixed blade pocket knife in a setting where more agressive shapes would be frowned upon. With a nice leather sheath they could be even classy.

I like tiny fixed blades, I think they are a challenge for a designer to get right. However, I hate having stuff on my neck. I usually just carry them in my pockets or on my belt. This Barkie is probably the one I use the most.

I think I would like the Bark River Micro Canadian. The proportions are right, enough handle and small blade. Also they look very nice.

I got a sweet little CPM 10v neck knife here from the forum. Don't wear it every day, but I wear it a lot and it is very useful. Kind of like having an exacto knife at all time!

I have two that I alternate between. The SOG Snarl and the CRKT Minimalist Bowie. Love both, but the CRKT is my favorite.

It's incredible how cheap and useful some knife discoveries are.

I got this knife last month for $3 and it's replacing my CRKT Minimalist as the small fixed blade of my EDC.
Inexpensive, lightweight, a true slicer and still kinda of "Wharncliffe" style blade like my Minmalist has.

Not as thick, longer, but same thickness and I made a simple sheath for it.

Cuts like the dickens and rides in the pocket unnoticed, flat and comfortable.

Love it, easy to clean and use.

Depending on what I'm doing, I sometimes carry a handmade ARK OWB in a kydex sheath with G Clip.
