I bought mine at Costco (the only place they were available, I think) about 2 years ago and it has been in my EDC rotation since. Is this model available anywhere else? How do you like yours?

they are not made anymore. I have one myself I carry at times.. Best juice model!

Me too and it's my EDC tool. I keep the ST 200 and wave in my bag just in case but the juice pro is my go to tool. It's nice and small but packed with all the goodies I need.

I really wish I could buy a backup for it...

Hello N2,

There have been quite a few new in the package Juice Pro's offered on Ebay. Look under Leatherman.

I wish Leatherman would add this to the Juice offering with nicely-colored scales.

Whats the differance between a XE6 and a Pro ??
Not a lot:
  • Foil Cutter Blade (hidden behind the corkscrew, it's a short, curved, serrated blade, handy for cutting the lead foil that seals most wine bottles, and a lot more)
  • Tweezers (Hidden in a polycarbonate spacer behind the main blade; same tweezers as the ones on the Squirt)
I *really* wish that Leatherman had added these improvements to the rest of the Juice line. Especially the foil cutter blade, since I actually use mine to open wine fairly often.

Thanks for replying :)

I'm looking at my Leathermans, and I'm supremely impressed (especially of the Charge) at the ingenuity - these guys are obviously very smart ..... but then I think why on earth do they deliberately leave out features like this (I miss the ruler that is only on the KF4 !) on the Juice line .... and also why they left out the Cutting hook and Crimper on the Ti / XTi ..... ????

Maybe they are not so smart afterall !!! :)

You can buy the Juice Pro at Sierra Trading Post for $59.95. Check it out.

Well, if you compare the New Wave and the Ti, the only difference is titanium handles and a 154CM knife blade. Is that worth 40 euros ? Not imo.
And then the difference between the Ti and XTi: cutting hook and crimper which can be easily implemented on the Ti (and the Wave, if need be. Especially the hook). Further, a second(!) bit drive, which is completely pointless, because you lose the scissors and bits are easily carried in the sheath.
I'll take the Wave, thank you very much. If the shop EVER delivers it, that is...

I have one too, and it was my EDC multitool until I got my Charge. I think the Pro is one sweet little tool and I still carry it sometimes. Mine is pretty beat up and a lot of the paint has rubbed off the handles but that just adds to its charm. :D

They are available at Costco (Wilsonville, Oregon). $30. Thick as neat little folding metal bricks. Haven't decided yet to buy one but can't quit looking at them each time I visit.

Best,

Oregon

For me, the Juice Pro, and even the XE6, just speak "EDC". I think it has more useful implements than ANY other model, small or large. I don't care much for the corkscrew, though, especially since it sticks out of the chassis. Don't find much use for the foil cutter on the Pro either, although the tweezers are appreciated.

The smaller blade size means I can take it places I can't take my other multis and knives. If only it had a ruler! It's always something. Fortunately I carry 3" x 5" ruled index cards in my wallet (I have a large wallet), which I use mainly for jotting notes down. The lines are 1/4" apart... so I can use the cards to measure. :)

I wish it had a pocket clip, but then again... it's probably too thick to carry well there. When I have it on my belt, though, I barely know it's there.

I don't like the corkscrew on the Juice series either. Not only does it not fit the chassis well it is also flimsy and bends easily.

Yes, I think of it as Leatherman's answer to the SAK.

The only Juice that does it my personal favourite the KF4, which Costco has for $19.99.

Hmmm... it's a little on the soft side, but with the assist, it's actually a lot more effective than the SAK corkscrew. I've opened several dozens of bottle with mine.

My wife bought this new fangled compressed air cork remover - you insert an open ended spike through the cork and press down on the air bottle and the cork shoots out. Well that is how it is suppose to work anyway. We had a bottle that it would not remove the cork and the good old SAK corkscrew came the rescue - my SAK removed the cork with no bother at all. Thats what I love a about SAKs - they are so well built that in many cases the tools on them work better than purpose built tools.

I don't have a pro, but I have heard tell that the assist chips into the bottle and doesn't work well at all.

First time I tried my CS4 corkscrew with the assist, it not only didn't do the job but sprung something and the Juice had to go back to Leatherman for repair. After its return, my next attempt to pull a cork was doing no better until I gave up trying to use the assist, simply turned the corkscrew all the way in and rocked the handle, levering the cork. That worked, just as it always does with a SAK.

If somebody has figured a good way to use the Juice assist, please post it,
thanx.

It's the same corkscrew and assist as used on other Juice models (CS4, SC2). I dunno, everybody seem to dislike 'em, but they've worked well for me. I recall a couple instances of chipping, but it was on the outside of the rim; I just brushed the chip away, and the wine poured just fine.

On the other hand, I don't think I've ever successfully pulled a cork with a SAK, there's just no leverage. I remember the last time I tried, I was camping; I put the bottle between my feet and pulled so hard that the bottle slipped free twice, and the third time the cork came free, but the bottle went flying, dumping some nice cabernet all over the dirt. :grumpy:

I don't use either anymore when camping, I just pack my spare Pull-Taps.
