Who Else has a Juice Pro

The only Juice that does it my personal favourite the KF4, which Costco has for $19.99.

I don't care for the corkscrew much because I just don't need it. I rarely use a corkscrew at all, and when I do, it has always been in a kitchen somewhere, where a dedicated corkscrew is already available.

What's with people getting these great Leatherman deals at Costco? I'm a member, but I've never seen any Juice models there (for $30, I would've bought two!). Mine has carried: a Supertool 200 / binoculars / windproof lighter gift set, a Wave / Mini-Maglite combo (which was my first LM), and a Squirt / Maglite Solitaire combo, though. Every time I go to that store, I just have to walk down the tool aisle, whether my girlfriend wants to come with or not :).

Then it is unnecessary weight and it does not fit the tool well. I don't mind having a tool I don't use on a multitool, but I do have a problem having a useless one on them.

The KF4's I saw (and there was a whole bunch of them) was not in the tool aisle, but with the camping stuff. Have a look there next time and hopefully you will have some luck finding them.

It's the same corkscrew and assist as used on other Juice models (CS4, SC2). I dunno, everybody seem to dislike 'em, but they've worked well for me. I recall a couple instances of chipping, but it was on the outside of the rim; I just brushed the chip away, and the wine poured just fine.

But not elegant and certainly not confidence inspiring.

On the other hand, I don't think I've ever successfully pulled a cork with a SAK, there's just no leverage. I remember the last time I tried, I was camping; I put the bottle between my feet and pulled so hard that the bottle slipped free twice, and the third time the cork came free, but the bottle went flying, dumping some nice cabernet all over the dirt. :grumpy:

For years I did exactly as you did, mostly with the same results. Then someone showed me how to use the corkscrew properly, that is, turn it all the way down, then rock the handle on the rim to lever the cork loose. Now it's easy and fun.

I don't use either anymore when camping, I just pack my spare Pull-Taps.

Probably the best thing to do. Dedicated tools are usually the best.

I don't really care for or use the corkscrew much either but it does house a Victorinox mini screwdriver nicely. :D

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try that!

I had one of those, but doesn't the Juice (all of them) already have a slotted screwdriver that's about the same size?

It's a tad larger but would still probably work just fine. I just like keeping the Vic in the corkscrew because it looks empty otherwise. I guess I'm just used to seeing SAKs with them.

I generally only need the corkscrew when I don't have it, and then I really need it and it is a major inconvenience. Learned this lesson half a lifetime ago motorcycle camping with a stunning blond. Major mistake!!! Last resort was a 6" Craftsman 1/4" drive extension in my tool kit. But then the cork is in the bottle and you cannot recork .... risky in a tent in high winds....

Costco has the Juice Pro again. Less than $32. Wonderful tool, but heavy, and it needs a clip and/or belt pouch. And I sure prefer the Torx screws to rivets. Still, I need to get a few more for gifts ....

Hi every Juice Pro expert,

I got mine couple days ago and very happy with it. But I have some questions about the design. Hope some of you guys have answers, so I can use my sweet Juice Pro more efficient:o .

1. Near the tip of the scissors blade, it is serrated. I know scissors's function is just cut things, but why serrated? and what do you use that for?

2. The plier is not sring-powered, right? I am afraid that I get a bad Juice Pro...

Thank you very much in advance!!

The serrated scissors are unique, I believe, to the Juice line. They allow you to get an extra bite on whatever you are cutting, especially if you are cutting right on the tip. Definitely a good improvement.

I have four of these and several other Juice models and none of them have springs. So, you didn't get a dud...:)

Hey heathah,

Thanks so much for posting a pic!! Thanks again!

About Juice pro's can opener...
I have a about-10-year-old SAK Officer SUISSE and used its can opener several times before without any problem. Can opener of my SAK is sharpened (although not scary sharp), but I noticed that can opener of my juice pro is not sharpened, same as my Gerber Multiplier 600 Black... Because I dont have any can in my apartment, I can't try those with non-sharpened can opener.

Anyone opened a can with the can opener of Juice Pro successfully before?

Recently I got around to trying one out by opening a catfood can. Frankly, because of the not very sharp edge, I didn't expect too much, but the can opener worked surprisingly well. It left a wider ridge on the can's lip than the Vic does, and neither cuts close as the dedicated can opener, nor as fast and easily. But both work well enough to use on those odd times a regular opener is not available or I feel like using them for fun.

I just got back from Costco in Los Feliz, CA (Los Angeles area) and sure enough they had them for $29. I already have a Juice S2 which I'm not exactly thrilled with so I doubt the Juice Pro would really interest me. But it's a great deal for die hard Leather-heads.

Hi,
I am wondering if any of you have any information about getting a cheap Victorinox miniscrewdriver? I want one in order to put it inside my Juice Pro. Any info is very welcome. Thank.

I got a couple *free* of charge from the official SAK shop in NYC. I was prepared to pay for them, but they told me that I could have them.

You can also get them from their web site: http://www.swissarmy.com/PartsAndAccessories/default.htm?category=pa_multitool_pocket_knives& (Mini Screwdriver, part# 30411, $2.00)
