Who else has a kershaw/emerson and what do you think of it so far?

Not pulled trigger yet on the Kershaws, seem decent for price but i like bigger knives. The super cqc8 has always worked well for me depite having to keep tightening the pivot screw. I have big hands and some grip issues with a finger i broke badly ten yeats ago and this fits my hand well in all grips. I use it heavilly and feel comfortable with it for defense and edc. I keep a super karambit on my off hand side. I do like the waved spyderco kerambit, would prefer if it was a little larger. I think i will pick up some of the kershaws as gifts. With practice the wave is by far the easiest and quickest quick draw.

My first thought seeing that collaboration:
So a Emerson with actual quality control

They're pretty good for the money

I have the 6k, took it apart and cleaned it up and it's like butter. It's a pretty decent cutter, though the geometry is not the best for slicing. The wave is very useful at work when I have to have my knife out fast. I enjoy it. It has me psyched for the 0620cf.

I also bought a 1k, and it sucked! Way too small to open without using the wave as a flipper despite being just as long as the 6k, just as thick as the 6k(I expected a slicer from the look). The worst part? I couldn't take it apart. The pivot screw was locked into the other side so tightly that I couldn't back it out, and ended up gushing my thumb with a flathead when it slipped while putting pressure on both sides. I do not suggest anything much smaller than the 6 and 7, as the thumbdisk is not the best at flicking open a knife.

I have received my 5k today, ootb it was not that good actually, terrible lockup and blade "centering" definetely not centered (almost touching the side), spacer not flush and a small ding on the upper part of the blade, so qc not really of the best kind... But after disassembling it, some sandpaper and oiling it, it's really good! The wave works like a charm, and all accounted it's a good knife, if you can tinker with it.

I handled all of the Kershaw/Emersons at the store recently and I was very impressed by them. They are a much better value than real Emersons and if I were you I would save you're money and stick with the Kershaws.

They definitely are a much better value than Emersons. Like an idiot I bought six Emersons a few years ago and, although I like the knives, I still feel bad about how much they cost.
I just wish that the Kershaws had four inch blades like the Emersons I have.

I have had my 6k for a week now and am really impressed. At first it was a pain to open with the disc, but once it broke in, all it good. I have opened it 100+ times and there is zero lock change.....been around 35% the whole time. If anything went wrong, or I lost it, I'd buy one in a second. For the price, it is a great knife.

My wife wants the 2k and I think it would be a good size for her. If it was larger I'd buy one for myself in a second - so sexy!!! Myself, I'm torn between the 6k and 7k... Also kinda considering the 8k even with the "backwards" chisel grind. Anybody have all 3? Which one do you like the best? Really digging the designs of the Kershemersons!

If you like the wave. If not, it can't hold a candle to the Ontario Rat 1 or 2 folder for $25 to $28.

I second this.
My 7k is very well made and the blade is ground perfectly, but it's kinda heavy and the action is stiff unless you are very careful to keep fingers off the lock bar while opening and unlocking. I don't like the wave, it catches on my pocket when I don't want it to, and just serves no purpose for me besides entertainment and frustration.

I bought the 6K a few weeks ago (in anticipation of the 0620) and have been using it as an edc but not a work knife -- I use my regular Emersons as well as my Military for work.
I didn't experience any QC issues like some other folks, and the fit & finish exceeded my expectations: the ergos are great, smooth opening, the blade was very sharp out of the box, the blade was (and still is) perfectly centered -- a great knife for the price, an outstanding value at $34.95. I wave the 6K & open it fairly hard, cut & slice things, etc. After my experience with this Kershaw/Emerson, I would definitely be willing to try some of their other offerings.

The imbalance of the scale side thickness vs. frame side thickness on the 3k is weird. Why isn't the steel & G10 thinner so that in total the thickness is closer to that of the steel only frame side? It seems like lazy design to me. Are the other models like this?

Aside from not being able to switch the pocket clip to left hand carry it's a decently built $40 Chinese knife. The blade on my 7 is beautiful but the lock is starting to move a little and I am sure will rock soon.

I have the 7k and my lock is at about 80% after about a week and its got a slight backward and forward rock but its only slight so i don't mind just hopes it dosen't get worse

Mine rocks now, but it's slight... The knife hasn't seen much use...

I haven't seen any rock or slipping, but my pivot has become almost scary smooth, to the point where I feel like it will drop on my hand one day.

Mine started to rock just yesterday. It doesn't bother me much as long as it doesn't make the knife unsafe :)
