Who else here loves the demo pattern?

If tou ever go to SMKW, look at the collectors section. They have old camillus demo knives there for $45-50 each last time I was there. Ha! Not in a million years will I pay that much for a demo knife!

Yikes. I didn't know whether anybody still carried these or not. I'm sure I didn't pay anywhere near that much when I bought mine, maybe $20 tops. But, of course, that's when times were still relatively good for Camillus. They're not around anymore, so now these knives have become 'rare collectible antiques'. Nevermind that they cranked these out like jelly beans, over the span of at least 30 years. There are probably still warehouse shelves chocked full of these, out there somewhere.

That's what I was thinking. The Ontario ones are pretty high up there, too.
Back on subject- They buy entire collections of knives. The minty rare ones they put in display cases in the museum in the second floor, the really bad ones get passed on to the new people that they hired to sharpen for them, and the decent ones they sell. Some of these demos were packed in old motor oil and had the bails broken off, some still had the factory grease on the blades.
They were charging around $48 on average for these, and I can go to any local gunshow in my area and pick up 3 camillus examples, still in their plastic, for $5 cheaper.
