Who else makes a frame lock production folder .. besides CRK

the S-2 does have 2 studs. As for the serrated edge, I'm not a huge fan of them but i just love my S-2 anyway.I actually like the smaller ones anyway, which they still have in plain edge. The small ones seem to hold the blade closed better.
My only gripe with the s-2 is when you squeeze the handle on the locking bar part of the handle, it grinds the back part of the tang vertically......no biggy as it doesn't affect lock up but just a gripe. This looks like it would be a problem on any framelock though (I could be wrong)

Well, that being the case, I placed an order for one of the Mediums in plain edge.

Every picture I have ever seen of the S-2 shows a single right hand thumbstud, although quite a few product descriptions do say the S-2 has dual thumbstuds.

The single thumbstud kept me from buying an S-2 quite a few times, but I see now it all worked out for the best because you just can't beat $24.95...

Thanks much for that info Sticky.

This is one of the things I look for when handling a new frame-lock. Many of the smaller steel handled frame-lock folders on the market share this problem, I do consider it "a biggie" if you want to get any life from your locking mechanism.

From the sounds of things over in the Strider Forum, Strider is going to have a Framelock soon. This should be one heck of a knife.

I have also just seen pictures of a new Framelaok from Mike Snody. What a great looking knife.

Check the Dealer for sale forum, I will make a post there after getting in to the shop, I believe we still have a few BM-750's left.

CRKT used to make the S-2 maybe 3 years ago. Thay made a small 2.5 inch blade and a larger on. Last time I saw one was on closeout a couple of years ago for $25.

Once in a great great while you'll see one a knife shows. Quality on the can vary, I liked the one I had.

www.grecoknives.com Falcon Folder $75.00 on clearance due to John's health problems. Frame lock. Carbon steel tank. All the effort went into the function and strength. Not a pretty boy. Use "search" for reviews/comments on John's work.

Guys, you're forgetting the Benchmade 630 Skirmish. Benchmade calls a frame lock a "monolock."

Oops -- just noticed the date of the thread. :footinmou

Kershaw Vapor and Vapor II - two of the best valued frame-locks around and easily available at a local Wal*Mart for under $20 and $25 respectively.

This thread threw me for a while, then I figured it out. Most of these posts were written more than two years ago, before most of the framelocks that are currently in production existed. Only the last few messages are recent.

Is the Camillus EDC American made, or does it have Japan, China, or Taiwan on the blade? Since reading this thread, I'm interested in the knife. In answer to the next question, yes it does matter where it's made.
