i like their current offerings of autos in the launch series. i don't miss the subforum myself for various reasons. i still like the brand and find as many knives that i like as i always did.

What continues to surprise me to this day is that many of the the KAI fans, after KAI left here in a huff, never bore any ill will to KAI for abandoning them.

Just blamed the "haters."

Probably because they can still buy KAI products...

I miss it! I liked buying knives I thought were great at reasonable prices. Now I'm buying Benchmades for what I used to pay for a Remington 870 shotgun with 2 barrels... Nice? Yeah. Value? NO.
Interesting post. Agree with the sentiment about Benchmade. Try the older Spyderco models or Cold Steel.

Clearly people miss the KAI forum. People like you, and I, and the rest of us are clearly here because we also like to discuss knives. Seems like KAI's departure took away the opportunity for KAI fans here to discuss KAI knives with like minded individuals. Spyderco, Buck, Benchmade, CS, etc etc have managed to do what they needed to do to keep their forums here open and thriving.

Not to suck up, but BF is the most active knife discussion forum out there....and full of KAI and ZT fans.

I would have thought that they would be at least hurt, that KAI didn't want to be troubled to manage the same stuff all those other manufacturers have to put up with to keep their fans here happy.

Though, maybe the "us vs. the haters" thing was spun up enough before their departure to let the KAI fans believe that KAI had no choice but to leave due to all those "haters and trolls."
