The Junior is also another perfect entry level Spyderco, but won't be as affordable as the Tenacious. It also looks and feels "unique". I'd suggest handling it before purchase but it's also not just for beginners, IMHO.
I personally find frame-locks safer and easier to use but it may also bump up "best bang for your buck" prices. It may drive manufacturing and retail costs up too much. Spyderco stands by it's motto though; they constantly think of ways to improve everything.
I have faith in them too. If it's possible, practical, cost-effective (on both ends), and sometimes even if it's requested enough, we'll see it.
Again, IMHO.
*just a guess... post # 4 maybe? Only 46 to go xD
