I did get a little tired, and had to bust out the hand saw.....then it hit me..
I REALLY DO NEED A 9!

LOL! That's awesome!
But...it's true. You cannot not have a BK9. :D
I traded my last 9 (and a few others) to Bill Siegle at Beckerwest for his Becker handled Bolo.
My Becker collection just wasn't the same. It was like the heart of the line up had been ripped out!
Luckily Qeth had one for sale on the exchange for a decent price.
All is well once again!

Yeah, I was hacking away....and I was like crap....I need a 9. It's so big though! I would want to carry it on my back, like a dang broad sword. I try to only have knives that are legal in Texas, and the 9 is not.....:(

No one else sees the irony of the broad carrying a broadsword?

Yes I know Broad is not a politically correct term for a female. However it would be funny... to me.

Nikk you do need a 9. It isn't legal to carry however it is legal to own and use on your property or when camping. ;)

Ha! broad is ok. I'm always the girl playing in a boy's world. Not phased. And true to the owning and camping, I don't think that one will fit in my bag....I'm just waiting for the day I have to explain to a police officer why I have a BK2 in my bag, an 11 in my back pocket, and a ZT 550 in my front pocket....that's going to be fun. Got pulled out of my car once by 4 cops....because is was 1am and you shouldn't sit in your car at 1am smoking a cigarette....so yeah, got slammed on a hood of a police car and interrigated by my Griptilian....sigh. Thank you baby Jesus for my firefighter badge in my wallet! Well, I got off track there....I think when I get a house, I will get a 9. My condo isn't big enough for my knife collection.

Ain't that some stuff! I never had to explain anything when I lived in Oregon. The one time I got pulled over when I had a CCP I informed the cop I had a gun and he asked what I was carrying more out of his own curiosity than as a sworn LEO. I've open carried guns and knives and never had an issue. I'm taking a test for a job near my old home town that pays twice what I make now so I hope I get it.

Nikki - is that a mimosa tree that went down? I don't think I've seen one more than 12' tall in all my life.
Just out of curiosity, is the wood useful for anything?

When I lived down in Austin (for about 6 months) I never had a problem with the cops questioning me about my blades. Granted I probably didn't look THAT suspicious either, plus I was doing security so pretty much the entire time I was there I had a big black shirt that said SECURITY on it. This was before I found Beckers though, but I carried a kabar tanto fighter IWB and a 6+2Dcell Maglite, and a S&W 9mm.

More than 12'? wow... There has been one on my property since before I was born... And the only trees that survive this Oklahoma wind is the Pecan and the Sycamore (probably more but I do not care)... and even that is iffy!... lol I only say this is because the Mimosa was planted by my pa, along with the sycamores and the pecans. They literally are the only trees that do not get blown over. (I know you did not ask me but I do not know of any real use... but they do smell good).

Yes, it is a Mimosa tree, and it's the second one in our complex to blow down. I don't know if the wood is good for anything, but I am going to find out before they haul it out. In the police officer's defense, I was in a crappy neighborhood, and I probably had a buzzed head at that point, and camo on or something. Probably looked like a hooligan....I'm a bit more refined now. ;) It's the only poor experience I've had with Austin cops.

HA! the tabacco kind! All clean over here! I basically looked like a hooligan.
