Here's hoping the big brown truck brings a little brown box with a kydex encased shiny metallic object to us all.

My training buddies didn't get their Christmas presies.

If I give them to them for Valentine's Day, they won't want to grapple with me any more.

General impression is OK.

A nice size for a neck knife. Very nice sheath with really thin guage ball chain. The edges of the holes in the handle are a bit sharp but that can be fixed with a bit of work with the Dremel. My main problem is that it is not very sharp at all. I suppose I've been spoiled by MT and Chris Reeve knives but this is not as sharp as the average Benchmade!

Considering the price I'd have to say it is a pretty good deal if you are willing to put a decent edge on it yourself.

And the "First Production Run" graphic on the blade is kind of cool.

Just my .02

I bought a small left hand Apogee from Darrel Ralph. The knife is a beauty but it also came with what I would consider a dull blade. I asked Darrel about it and he said that he prefers a "meat cutting edge" on his knives. The dullness of the Arclite may reflect this. I took my Apogee to my local knife shop, Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, California and had Russ (20 years experience sharpening) put a mean edge on it for me for a small fee. They have a website if anyone is interested e-mail me and I will send you their phone number. I have found that he does such a good job that it is not worth sharpening any knives of my own. Does anyone know what type of steel is used in the Arclite? I would like one and for $19.99 it's a pretty good deal. My Apogee is very nice but was considerably more expensive. Darrel does some pretty fine work.

I got mine. (Two plain edge.) They came via USPS. They left me a orange card yesterday since noone was home to confirm receipt. I went to the Post Office today and picked them up. I haven't had time to form an opinion yet.

The Arclites are made with 420HC Stainless Steel

I have two from a dealer serrated and plain edge. They came very sharp.

I have revamped my thinking on the blade edges over the last weeks.
I now make most all of my knives with a thin polished edge that push cuts news paper out of the box.
Just an upgrade to the custom line.

Just got mine today. WOW. Nice design Ralph and nice job Will and gang on workmanship. Mine came razor sharp. I love this knife. Now, where can I get something to attach it to my belt as an alternate carry. Also, the size is perfect. I was worried that it was going to be too big to be carried comfortably around the neck.

I got two Arclites yesterday(plainedge) They weren't too sharp, but it only took about 5 min each to strop them into shape. The edges of the cutouts are quite sharp, but can be remedied easily. One of the Arclites had grind lines that were uneven, side to side. Overall, a pretty good effort for a 20 dollar bill

I got my Arc Lite today.
It is very sharp. It cuts hair with almost no effort. The grinds are a little bit off, not much though. The holes in my handle are not sharp. They are not counter sunk but they dont have any wire edges that I can detect. The knife is a tiny bit loose in the sheath but still held very securly. I tried to fling the knife out of the sheath and I couldn't do it. The Kydex is very well done. All of the corners are nicely rounded so that it wont scratch my chest and stomach up. The D. Ralph Design First Production Run logo is very cool.
I have played with my Arc Lite for a couple of hours now and I like this knife more and more. Its got a very slight recurve, which I like. It is surprisingly comfortable to hold considering the small handle. I plan on cord wrapping mine just to see if I like it. I think that this knife will see lots of use.
Now for some questions.
What is the bell shapped hole for in the handle? How do you attach the TEK(?) lock to the sheath? What are the carry options with the TEK lock?
Darrel and Will did a great job on this knife. Thanks for such a nice knife at such a great price.

I'm really impressed, especially for the price. Nice design, and even though it's not high end steel, I can put a nice edge back on it fairly quickly.

As mentioned above, I'm going to try cord wrapping the handle on mine as well.

Any one else's blade getting chewed up by the kydex? It's a shame (even at 25 bucks) that the sheath on mine is leaving big scratches all over the blade, and right through the neat graphic. Any one know a good way to polish out the marks or prevent further damage from the sheath? (just don't use it, right?

Kydex is great stuff for a water proof sheath
. One problem is that it always mars the blade .
Nothing that can be done about it.
I would put some vasiline on the blade for lube in and out of the sheath.

The last hole in the blade is for a rip cord if you want to use it.

If you have a tec lock the hole spacing fits into the holes on the sheath. There are several options on the lock itself for different carrys. The locks come with bolts to attach it to the sheath.

Thanks Darrel.
This knife just keeps growing on me. I have worn it since yesterday and used it for some mundane cutting chores. It handles lemons for lemonade and avacodoes for guacamole with the greatest of ease. Just wash, rinse, dry and sheath.

Off to find a TEC lock.

Got mine too. Yep, the kydex is making a mess of the graphic, but whatcha gonna do, eh?

Knife was shaving sharp out of the box. I'll replace this chain with a cord when I get a minute. The knife carries like it isn't there. I caught myself fishing around in my pockets for a knife the other day until I realized I had one around my neck.

Nothing too sharp on the handle, and the rough edges that are there I suspect will remedy themselves over time and usage. The handle fits my hand fine, and is ample for what the knife is meant to do. If I were going to perform some prolonged hard knife work, I would grab something with more handle, but then that knife wouldn't necessarily be there, now would it? This thing is beautifully designed, and is probably the best deal I have gotten on a knife. I keep looking at it, and have a hard time believing that I paid less for it than for a large pizza downtown. Amazing.

I haven't had it long enough to really put it through any hard use, but I suspect it will get enough of a workout as I carry it more. I'll likely toss in my $.02 worth here and there.

Nice work, and a big thank you to Darrel, Will, And 1SKS.
