I have used mine for firewood preparation (including batoning 3" diameter oak and maple) and food preparation. It slices surprisingly well for a 3/16" thick blade and has only required stropping on cardboard to keep the original, excellent sharpness. The food prep included cutting apples and tomatoes. I got some mild discoloration from the last but I suspect it would clean up with super fine abrasive.
