I'd like to trade my feat. Chimera, or my Sebenza for a Commander and some cash, but no one seems to have one. Where are they all at? After reading all this bad luck with Commanders, I'm hesitant to get one, but I definately won't be trusting it mith my life or anything, but I don't expect it to fail under normal use, that's for damned sure. John, are they honestly safe to use? Theirs no convincing me the liners are thick enough, but if it works, then it works. DO I really want one? I know one thing, if I do make a deal on one, I'm using the cash difference to buy another Sebenza.

Yes, Satin Commanders do exist!

I know of three forum members (myself included) with Satin '98 Commanders.

As to the safety question, there have been several cases of claimed lock failure lately. No lock out there is 100%. To those that seem to have constant lock problems, may i suggest a fixed blade.

While I have never had an Emerson fail, I have had other popular brands locks fail to engage or collapse. I realize these are individual knife problems and have taken them up with the various makers. I carry and use folders, including Emersons, daily and still have all my digits.

Jackyl, If you can find a Satin '98, jump on it! Or better yet, just shoot me an email with the location and I'll take care of it.

Actually man, I'm after a 99 / 00 hard chromed one I guess...but everyone seems to call them "satin" Commanders. Keep me in mind if you find a GOOD one for sale at a good price, or someone interested in trading.
