Who has left Spyderco to only come back?

Story of my life.

I've decided that the Spyderhole is the best opening system available. A few other companies employ the "hole", but after trying them, I still prefer Spyderco, and most likely always will.

I strayed for a while antil I realized that Spyderco's stock features just plain work and are so easy to use. There is not a folding knife that I can get into action quicker and easier than a Spyderco.

I have. Started with CRKT when I was young and it was all I could afford. Bought Benchmades because Grandpa always said they were the best, did some research here and realized how awesome Spyderco's were. Spent many many years carrying only Spyderco. Tried out Blade Tech, Benchmade, Strider, and some others for a short while. Enjoyed some of them, hated some others.

I've always owned Spyderco, but have come back again to carrying nothing but Spyderco. No other company has the materials, workmanship, and ethics than Sal and crew, and I will support them with a round hole clipped to my pocket from here on out. My current flavor is a Paramilitary that I am really liking, but as another poster said, it is really hard to beat a Delica for a solid, easily carried EDC knife.

I have also furnished family and friends with multiple Byrd's over the years, they are a fantastic value for the quality they provide.

I've "come back" to Spyderco probably 7 or 8 times now. They have always made excellent knives, and keep getting better and better, constantly upgrading their models, materials etc. What's not to like? I've carried Spyderco knives off and on for almost 20 years now, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I went to a Buck 110 that I carried as a kid for a short while, a couple of months.... Started to miss my easier-opening and much lighter Endura.

8 yrs ago or so I bought my first spyderco a Q with the bug cut out in the blade, then a ss rookie and a endura, been on a fixed blade kick for 2 or 3 yrs lately but folders always out numbered them in my collection, lately ive been drawn back, be that bad experience with some brands or just the designs, ive added a para mil, manix2 regular, manix2 ctsxhp, leafstorm, and a orange uk pen knife, the ukpen knife is about my favorite, I sold a much more expensive knife to put some on it and im much happier with its simple quality build.

My first one-handed knives were Spydercos in the mid-late 1990's -- I remember thinking it was the greatest folding knife concept of all time. Then I tried a bunch of other stuff for several years. Went through a series of Benchmades, which looked cool but really didn't cut all that great and were next to impossible to sharpen. Then I bought a few Microtechs in the early 2000's -- I really liked them (and still have them), but I never really wanted to subject them to hard use. I ended up always carying a cheaper "backup" knife for serious cutting tasks, which completely defeated the purpose of the MT.

Then, I think in Christmas of '06 I got a Spyderco Manix, and was blown away -- it had that perfect combination of rugged design, quality materials and construction, and cutting ability. Eventually I lost that Manix, but Spyderco is far and away my favorite manufacturer again. They just get better and better, and I carry one every day.
