I really like the look of these hats.

I know there's a million of you with your Tilley's but I'm curious who has one of these hats and if you have any stories about them? Like comments or what not.

I was about a mouse click away from getting one, but stumbled onto a tilley for a good price. Love to see pics of more who have the RD hat though. I know Dave Farmer has one...

Looks cool, but I'd get flamed for wearing one in public around here. I'd wear one out fishing/hiking though.

I have been eyeing one of those too Stormstaff.... I too would like to know what you folks who have them think about them.

Man, I've been looking at those too! I like them, I think if I got one, I would treat it with my leather beeswax/pine pitch finish too see how well it keeps the water off, although, that would probably kill the breathability.

I've been he hawing, I should just get one.

I really like mine. Back in my heat casualty thread, people mentioned that the RDB hat looked hot. It's not, at least to me. It's a cool bush hat.

I like mine as well. Great looking hat and the price is right. I haven't noticed it being any warmer than a ballcap, which is what I used to wear.

I just took one on a 2,200 mile motorcycle trip, which included several day hikes in 90 degree weather. Worked like a champ. Probably warmer than some better ventilated hats, but I certainly wouldn't call it warm. Perhaps beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I like the look far better than the Tilley type hats, and gives much better protection than a ball cap. I live in San Diego and I wear it all over the place...although my wife is not happy about that. :)

Funny you should mention your wife not being happy about you wearing your hat!
My wife refers to mine as "your stupid hat"! :p What the hell does she know anyway!:D

I've had mine for a while, and I do like it. It does get kind of warm if you are standing in the sun, but probably no more so than a baseball cap. -Matt-

eeevverryone has a tilley. I'm starting to pin a hat band around mine just so I don't look like everyone else.

Not everyone has a Real Deal hat. They all look a little different and make great throw up buckets.
