Hey guys, I own both the Mini Ritter and I have an orange RSK Mk1 on the way! I really like the handles on the Mini Ritter. The full SS liners really make the handles feel a lot more legit compared to the full size Griptilian: they feel cheap IMO. So, I am toying with the idea of buying a set of Wilkins grips for my RSK Mk1. What do you guys think? Thanks

Wilkins grips are awesome, but I cannot justify the price for my minigrips. :thumbdn:

Well... I guess I'm the next in line here. I had an orange set on a full sized RSK and traded it away. I didn't care for the feel of the grips ergonomically. I did like the slightly tacky feel they had when I was holding them. It gave me a lot of confidence about using the knife. What I didn't like was the feel of the boxy shape, if I'm making any sense here.

I've seen some from Cuscadi (sp?) that looked much more comfortable to hold and use, but I've also had a good feeling from the epoxy that I added to some of the pockets in the original scales from the orange Wilkins RSK that I had. They gave a more solid sound to the knife. I don't know whether it actually added enough weight to make a difference in the weight or balance of the knife or not.

But that's just me. Most of the comments I've read about them are glowing with praise.

 I agree. I'd like to have a set for my mini Grip, but can't "justify" the additional price. I wished BM would make some better quality grips.

I love the Wilkins Grips (and the ones made by CSD). They are expensive, that's true, but they totally transform the Grip.

I bought them and then asked why. They are quality for sure but once you start putting that kind of dough in a blade..... Might as well go the CRK or other high end route that has a damn fine warranty backing it.

I have Wilkins on my M4 Ritter Grip and I love them but I also have another M4 Ritter that I had Dobson make scales for and those scales are the bomb as well

I really think that the minigrip would benefit from exactly that. A redesign of the handle for the regular and the mini would be awesome, and in some regards long overdue.

I've got a set for my mini Ritter and it turned a pretty cool knife into an awesome knife! Much more solid feeling with exsquisite fit and finish.

I had a set for my mini Ritter and while I do feel it made a great knife even better, I did have one small complaint with it. The scale is thicker around the Axis lock, so the lockbar sits lower in the scale, making it harder to activate the lock. It was still easily do-able, but it was noticeably easier with the stock scales.

Isn't the Bone Collector basically a sheepsfoot grip with G10 scales? I personally prefer the drop point - I would definitely buy a griptilian again with better handle scales.

I personally think Wilkins grips are too expensive as well. Definitely would rather get a Sebbie or even the gold class griptilian.

I'd love to get the Bone Collector version Griptilian if it didn't have the stupid looking giant block of text on the blade...

But, I've had my eye on a pair of Wilkins Grips for a while.

I keep coming close and then realizing that I could buy two regular Grips for the price of the scales, and that pretty much ends the thought.

They are great.

If you like the Axis system, but feel the plastic handles are cheap feeling and sounding, these will transform your knife.

As some have mentioned, BM has a few Grip models with solid G-10 handles that might retrofit the Grip. This option would be less expensive than a set of Wilkinsgrips.

i bought my 551 of the exchange with the wilkins grips already on them. i hate the original grips & i'm glad i got the whole thing in 1 shot. its such a better knife the "wilkins way".I polished the hardware to make it even better.

They're awesome, but the g11's not really something I'd put on a user... Over a year of daily carry, every time that mine has accidentally dropped, the beautiful (& expensive =_=; ) green g11 has either cracked slightly, or dented - creating ugly white marks... It still works and feels just great, I'd just prefer a material that's a tad more damage resistant, considering the price that they go for...

I had a set and really liked them, but sold them when I got my Manix 2. Blade hole, axis (like) lock--it's kinda like a Wilkins Grip from the factory.

I would think the Bone Collector would really hurt his business except for the cool colors.

What on earth are you doing to the G11? That stuff is harder and more durable than G10, which is pretty durable material.
