Who has Wilkins grips on their Griptilians? Opinions please

They are great.

If you like the Axis system, but feel the plastic handles are cheap feeling and sounding, these will transform your knife.

As some have mentioned, BM has a few Grip models with solid G-10 handles that might retrofit the Grip. This option would be less expensive than a set of Wilkinsgrips.

What models have G-10 grips? I thought all Grips had the cheap plastic, except for the expensive carbon fiber model.

What on earth are you doing to the G11? That stuff is harder and more durable than G10, which is pretty durable material.

Haha, err, two weeks after buying the Wilkins, it slipped out of my pocket while I was reaching for my wallet and hit the concrete floor at a home depot, causing a miniature crack at the corner of the scale right near the blade jimping - felt like I'd just dropped a ming vase. 0.0; And the other time was when it slipped off the top of a box I'd been carrying at chest level, and fell to the driveway, causing some torx-head sized dings on both scales near the backspacer... =/ Damage aside, it 'is' still one of my favorite knife designs. =)

Pardon me,
I should have stated that BM has a few Axis models with G-10 that might retro fit. I was thinking of the Bone collector models.
I don't know if they will work or not though.

I like the stock Benchmade Noryl GTX handle scales, and have found them to be lightweight, strong and comfortable.

Plus.. they come free with the knife! :)

I like the stock Benchmade Noryl GTX handle scales on the mini versions, but find the Wilkins scales to make the full-size Grips more to my liking.

I'm pretty sure the BC grips won't interchange with the Grip grips, but would love to know if that's not right.

The BC is just a Presidio with G10 scales and a different blade. You can swap parts with the 520/525s though.

When I first saw a picture of the Bone Collector folder I immediately thought G-10 Griptillian. After I got the large BC home I saw nothing but Presidio. When the BC first was announced a lot of folks were saying Griptillian with G-10. I think the blade shape probably had something to do with that as it looks almost like the wharncliffe Grip blade, but it is not. Once you see it in the flesh you see that it is a drop/spear point blade, but there is nothing wrong with that as it does a fine job of cutting and the blade is very handy for numerous jobs.:D

I've looked at those for a long time and they look super, but..............
Are the Wilkins scales THICKER than the factory scales?
Too much bulk can be bad.

According to my calipers, they measure the same at the thickest point. So technically, they are the same width.

However, the Grips stock Noryl scales are rounded, which makes the knife seem thinner in the pocket. The Wilkins maintain their thickness all the way to the edges, which makes them a bit blocky compared to the stock Griptillian handle.
I had a full size WilkinsGrip, on a Ritter blade, and it didn’t seem overly fat to me. Bear in mind that I was using it as a survival/outdoor folder, not an EDC for string and envelopes.
I like thicker handles on outdoor knives because they don’t dig into my hand like thinner handled folders do. It’s a worthwhile tradeoff for me. And yes, I do have some very thin folders for the urban jungle, I like them too.
Although I don’t have the knife anymore, I really liked the WilkinsGrips. It makes any Axis feel and look like a custom.

ihave 3 mini ritters and wilks grips on the m4 model 1 day i love the grips the next day i dont. the wilks grips seem a little oversized compared to the benchmade stock handles. i guess i am lucky either way because i have both to choose from.

I have Wilkins on my M4 Ritter Grip and I love them but I also have another M4 Ritter that I had Dobson make scales for and those scales are the bomb as well

if u could shoot me and email at namegoeshere0 at msn dot com if u could i got a few questions about those handles im thinking about ordering one

I bought a set of orange Wilkins for my full size Ritter. I really liked them at first, but after a while I felt that they made the knife too heavy, so I sold the Wilkins...but kept the Ritter ;)

I have tried both Wilkins and Cuscadi scales and can say that the Wilkins have the better fit and finish.
