Who heat treats 1095?

Hi ive got a couple of big choppers made of 1095 that id like to get heat treated. I was originally gonna send them out to Peter's but its been nearly 2 weeks since i sent in a quote request without an answer so i guess they are busy. Is there any other options out there? I should mention that these are fairly big, both just under 20" so thats a factor as well.

Did you call Peters' or just email them? I think they sometimes forget they even have email

If no one chimes in here, ask in the Wanted: Knifemaker / Craftsman / Related Services subforum. There are a couple fellows there who do HT for other makers.

Have you looked into Paul Bos at Buck in Post Falls ID http://www.buckknives.com/index.cfm?event=bio.paulBos# ? Now I am not sure they do 1095 hmmmm by their website but thought I'd throw it out there.

Our Heating Specifications

Materials Heat Treated: All stainless steels, air hardening tool steels, and stainless steel Damascus.

You have to infer, they do not do carbon steels like 1095
