I have a 703. When I was 16 years old and just licensed to drive, one of the first things I did with my new found freedom was go out and buy a decent knife (the 703) from Heagy's Sport Shop on Main Street Westminster, MD. The year must have been 1988. Walmart moved into town probably 1-2 years later and Heagy's closed shortly thereafter, so I just squeeked in the door to be able to experience that classic American moment of buying a classic American made pocket knife from a family owned downtown main street business.

Excellent anecdote!

I just joined the club:) I have patiently watched for one in good shape at a good price. Nib 701 arrived today:thumbup: I have liked the look of the design, like the ns bolsters and birchwood handles

Nice knives guys . I had a 709 for a while but foolishly traded it away . I didn't know the model number until I read post #21 but my Grandad carried a 704 the last couple of years of his life . I will have to be on the lookout for one now .

I just got a MIB Buck 703 Colt to go with my 701 and 705. It's such a shame this series was discontinued. It's so different other stockman knives...so very stout. I wish I could post a picture but my camera hardware crashed. I also wish Buck would revisit this series.

I have a colt that I recieved from my parents about 19years ago for my birthday. It still in decent shape but I havent carried much in years. Every once in awhile it finds its way into my pocket just for a walk down memory lane. I just might have to pull it off the shelf for a bit. I always thought they were a classy knife.
