You mean for today? or done for the week?;) :p :D

I just bought two TOPS Steel Eagles and another Large Seb, IN THE LAST WEEK!!!! I'm done, that's it! Make it STOP!!

I've drastically slowed down. There just aren't that many left that really get me going. So now I have some money freed up to buy other toys with.:D

Oh, I'm not nearly on the level that many of you are on, with all the multi-hundreds-of-dollars custom knives, etc., but I do find myself treating myself to all kinds of toys lately. Recently got a "backup" Mini Griptilian; went out to Walmart to get the $20 Kershaw Vapor, then had to get another, but when all they had was the Vapor II, I got that; recently got myself a Benchmade Dive Knife in H-1 steel; picked up a BK&T Combat Utility 7 at a local gun show; ordered and received three Cold Steel Torpedos (which I don't even have a place to throw!...

Right now, I am "done" in the sense that I don't need[/] any given knife. If I were going out afield, I have several good production fixed blades and more than several good production folders. I'm finished for now with the low-end knives; there's nothing I find I desperately want right now. I'm waiting (and saving) for a Spyderco A.T.R. when it becomes available. And then I'll be saving for a backup A.T.R. after that...

Why stop? It's fun!

I wish I was done buying knives, and like you Thom I know I should be done, but I keep seeing new stuff on the horizon. The upside is that I don't buy as many as I used to. I suppose that my tastes are changing.

Done ?? Never i had to start "Making" to feed this obsession, will probably Make until i am forced to quit . by God or death . Between the Forging of Damascus Weekly , Grinding , Sanding , Ect i figure i got at least 10 year's more before this Knifemaking even try's to stop me . Good Luck with your Addiction !! :)

I just have to pace myself - just ordered three more Spydies yesterday - what excuses can I come up with THIS time?

I think Knifenuts are like alcoholics - you my stop buying, maybe just cut-back; maybe just be terminally bonkers and continue....but you are always a knifenut..

Knifenuts don't have to do this either!!:barf: :barf: :barf: :footinmou :barf: :footinmou :barf:

I've never even considered stopping until now. But even now I'm just taking a break... cause I'm taking a break from working :D

It'll all be over in a few weeks though. I'll be back to my spending ways in a while.

Glad my wife is understanding. Let's not talk about guns. That is a bad obsession as well. My 19 yr old son is just like me and talks me into more trouble than I care to admit.

Sure, blame your son for getting you into trouble; convenient.

I am done...........Collecting knives is boring. knives in general are boring. There is nothing new or nice left to buy. I hate knives.

There, I said it!!!!!!

and I Lie!!!!:p

Done buying knives?!?

You say that like it might be some kind of addiction or something. I AM NOT ADDICTED TO BUYING KNIVES!!! I can stop any time I want.

As a matter of fact, I stopped twice just last week, and I plan to stop again next week...or the week after. But I am NOT addicted.

I designed a knife that Dave Beck is going to make for me and after that it may very well be a year or more before I buy any more knives. I must concentrate on making more knives. I need to save my money for equipment and things.

So I guess that, for most of us, the answer would be:

I'm not buying knives anymore

followed by

and I'm certainly not buying any less! :D

Thanks for the great answers, folks.

I have stopped trying to quit. Last week it was a Busse, Siegle, Lamey
Ti Buck and an Allen Blade packpal. One a day for 5 days. I have to rest on Sat/Sun you know any play with the new toys! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the Cold Steel bushman that was sharing the box with the packpal.

I decided I was done a couple of months ago. I figured I could still be a fan of the craft and learn new techniques in martial arts, sharpening skills, survival skills etc. and still enjoy my knives to the fullest. 'Course since then I've bought a Grohmann lockblade, a Puma Stockman,CRKT M-1,Schrade Stockman...and a handful of Opinels... I did manage to quite smoking a year ago that counts for something doesn't it?;)

I quit smoking near the begging of this year, but I've probably spent more on knives then I have on cigarettes

Well I hope so but I'm at least going to slow down. I have enough knives to last several lifetimes.:)  ;) :p
