Left the Marine Corps in '91. My personal Beugainville, Tarawa and Kwajalein were at The Trophy Lounge in National City, CA, The Thunderbird in Jacksonville, NC and Malmen's Restaurant in Narvik, Norway.
I'm not, but my older brother is an activated Army reservest Major, and my dad is a retired Army Colonel. Been around it all my life.
I wish I had gone in.
cheers,
Derek
I was in the Air Nat. Guard until September 29 when we got activated, now I am in the Air Force. Believe it or not it is my 3rd branch. I was active duty Coast Guard from 88-92, Army National Guard from 93-96, then decided last year to go back in. I thought the Air Guard might be more high speed than the Army Guard. I was very wrong. 20 months left on this enlistment. I will do my part during this activation then my military career will be over.
Thanks to all my brothers in arms especially on this solemn holiday!
Remember ... our road to freedom cost us a cemetery full of indispensible men.
