who here likes 10's??

i have a older s&w 1076 in 10mm and i love the way it shoots. i think i would pick that over my kimber custom eclipse:foot::foot::D:D i just shoot alot better with the smith than the kimber. anyone else pick an older gun over a brand new higher quality more expensive gun???

I had a S&W 1076. It was the most unreliable firearm I have ever owned. Good enough for the plinker, but not reliable enough for self defense. I am not 'shooting' off here, the issues with this firearm are well documented.

I like the 10mm round. I've been thinking of getting one for a while. I think I might get the Glock 20 or the Colt Delta Elite.

My next pistol will be the Ted Nugent approved Glock 20 in 10 mike mike.

A friend of mine has the S&W 1006. It's a steel frame da/sa with adj. sights. The thing is built like a tank, and almost as heavy as one.

I like 10mm caliber it even sounds cool to say, "10 millimeter."

well my dad has shot over 800 rounds and i have shot about 450. my dads has the fbi model that someone ported and polished. mine is a regular sc police gun. we got ours used all we did was change out the spring, and the have never jammed stove piped or anything bad......... were can i find the issues you are talking about?

The attached link was found with a google search. (Ky. state police) is similar to the issue our state police had with these firearms. Back in 1992, I believe, there were also local newspaper articles reporting cracked frames and feeding problems with the 1076. The fit and finish of the gun seemed below par also. I recall the depth of the S&W stamp on the handgun being uneven and sloppy.

i guess we just got luckey with our two.... but i would rather have any older steel frame s&w than a glock or much of anything else to be honest.

though they are pretty good now i have had really bad luck with S&W autos back pre '01 or so, steel and alloy frame ones, dont get me started lol.

looks like VLTOR is possibly coming out with a Bren Ten copy... almost a faithful copy without the crossbolt safety on the slide. this should be great if it comes to market!
