Greetings HIKV forumites,
I've been lurking for a while here, but would like to chime in on this one in regard to real world scenarios. I really like exotic firearms and cutlery. But even if you don't care for firearms, you owe it to yourself to be educated about them. So you can be safe with them, and to find out what they can and CAN"T do. It does make a difference.
Primitive weapons like a handmade Kuk can really resonate with something primal inside of us. Almost(?) makes you believe in re-incarnation! On the other hand, it's hard to feel like you've been "one" before with a Glock! Relentlessly reliable in a pinch, but has all the beauty and mystique of a mud fence!
But the bottom line here, all other things being equal, it that our actions will be judged by a jury of our peers (and I don't mean other members of this forum!)
If you shoot a bad guy breaking into your house, you probably won't even see the Grand Jury.
Can you imagine what will happen if you happen to use your favorite HI Kuk for the task?? Fasten your seatbelt, extreme learning curve ahead!
That said; I still keep my HI BAS at hand. It waits patiently next to my Glock. Just in case.. ;-)) Belt and Suspenders!
As always; just my $.02 and YMMV!
