I am toying with the idea of wearing a fixed blade as a semi daily wearer. Small blade of course. Thinking about making a cross draw or horizontal type sheath. What do you guys think?

I'm wearing a Spyderco Ronin in a Okuden Horizontal Belt Sheath right now. I've been wearing it for a few days now and it seems to be working out great so far. My favorite thing is that it frees up a pants pocket for other EDC stuff instead of a 'tactical folder'...

PS - Even so, I also have a Benchmade AFCK in my pocket...

Sometimes I wear either my Gerber Yari or Camillus CUDA CQB-1, IWB, in the kydex sheaths they came with...Both of these carry very well, as they both have a fairly flat profile, while still having enough handle to be comfortable to hold and use.

Just carried the Laredo Bowie this morning out to breakfast at the club in an IWB rig from Mike Sastre [ the southern comfort ].

It gets worn on the weekends quite a bit.

I carry my Katz Vet's Knife most of the time in a normal sheath. It's small and unobtrusive and gets used a lot in the shop.

I carry a Strider MFS horizontally in a kydex tec-loc. Sometimes I'll wear a Strider MT w/ a IWB.

I wear a fixed blade every day. For the last while it has been a small Boye Denritic 440C in a horizontal sheath. No one even notices. It is great for carrying in places where one will be worried about how people will react to the carrying of a fixed blade.

I carry my "free radical" model in the small of the back, scout carry. I carry it very often this way when wearing a jacket (in Oregon thats 65% of the year) this mode of carry is comfortable even when sitting in my truck, and has the ability to be drawn very quickly.

I wear Busse Assault Shaker around my neck and carry a fixed blade by David Dempsey everyday.

Keith, can you please email me the full size pic (not the avatar size) of that ST-24 ? Pretty please ? :D

I wear a Camillus mini Talonite necker all the time. (Don't know if a neck knife counts) I have a small EBK by Ed Caffrey that I wear around the house in my right front pocket, I need to have different sheath made so I can wear it as a necker also.

I wear my Günter Böhlke Ironfinger (6-3/4" overall with a 3-1/4" blade) all the time. It rides in a horizontal kydex sheath just to the weak side of my belt buckle. I've worn it for several months and not a single person has commented on it, except when I've drawn it to use.

Been carrying a fixed as much as possible for about 3yrs now. This latest carry is my spydie lum tanto, in a normark rig. Since march on the same spot(left hip). Have customs coming my way too.

I carry a Bud Nealy Aikuchi attached to a belt loop by a static cord made from ball chain covered in the outer sheating from paracord.

I carry it every day and barely know it's there, yet when I need it I just grab the handle and yank, the static cord holds the Kydex sheath back, and the blade just slides out.

I believe if you legally can carry a fixed blade in your area you should, nothing fits the bill when you need a fixed blade, like a fixed blade.

I often wear a Dozier Straight Personal as my EDC. Great knife and a great sheath in the horizontal cross draw position. It made a great EDC. Havn't been carrying it lately because the sheath doesn't fit well on my new belt. I need to get a second sheath made for it with a larger belt loop.

I have been wearing a neck knife for 10-12 years and lately, a small belt or pocket sheathed fixed blade. Then if it is dress up time, a nice folder for showing. :)
