Who Inspired Your Interest in Knives?

I don't exactly who sparked the interest in knives, but if anyone can be held responsible for it, it sure was my dad. He has soo many tools and machines in his shop and he used to cut sticks for me and my brother when we were kids. Aside from that, knives have always been on my mind since the age of 9 or 10 so I can't really determine when it started, but I'm glad it did after all. ;)

One of my uncles was a hunter and got me a tiny folder when I was about 5 (never been able to open it, nearly destroyed my nails trying......) and my dad was a merchant marine Bosun always working with ropes, knotting away and stitching canvas (used to make awesome duffel bags) i his free time at home.

My Father. I still remember watching him in his garage when i was a very young boy, sharpening his fishing knives on an oil stone and stropping them on a hanging leather belt.

My dad always carried a knife. He farmed and operated a small hardware store. I worked in the hardware store till i went to college. We had several sharpening stones and ceramic rods around for the old timers to sharpen then knives when they would sit around talkkng like old men do. I've carried a knife from the time I was about 10, I just thought that's what all men did.

A neighbor gave me my first knife when I was five years old. I still have that knife and almost every other one I've ever gotten. Knife bug bit early and has certainly bit my bank account.
