I'am sure many of you have seeh BM knives aii over ebay for the last several years. I own 4. Nice work but not the best. I have tried to find out from the seller-not Brett- but a guy named Muhammad Mushtaq in Valley Stream NY. He will NOT give me an answer!! Iwill bet A HERB DERR DAMASCUS that this guy is a fake !!! Made In INDIA is more like It. Thanks , Ray W
 
India or Pakistan would be my guess as well.
Just a guess as a google search, albeit a quick one turned up nothing about his identity
(Some creative writing though ;)).

A quick search tells me there is another ebay seller out of Valley Stream, NY selling Pakistani looking damascus knives supposedly from presumably fictitious custom maker Rody Stan. Likely the same purveyor of Pakistani imported "awesome custom Damascus" knives. Knowledge is the best junk filter on ebay.
 
Thanks guys for your responses on '' Who Is Brett Martin. Badhammer found a thred buy Canadian Knife Makers Guild. And BM appears in one photo. I checked the memembership records and NO Brett Martin. Folks like Tony Bose ,Herb Derr. Lowell Bray are there.If he exsist he is not a knife maker, just a wantabe!! Brett Martin I think is another AC Michaels that fooled alot of people including AZCK-including ME !! Thanks All Ray W
 
Thanks Tom for your reply. I blame myself for not doing a frist class search on this befor I bought anything!!In doing so perpetuates this type of fraud. Thanks Tom
 
I purchased a Damascus knife on eBay that was supposed to be a real received it opened up the package and found that the pattern head rubbed off in some places it came from a seller who states there made by Rody Stan has anyone heard of him? It came from NY
Any help would be appreciated
 
"Rody Stan" is a brand of Asian knives sold on eBay and Alibaba.

As is common with these knives of unstated or false origin, the Damascus blade is said to be made of 512 layers of 1095 & 15N20

This is just the newest trick by these shady Pakistan beer can melters.
I also blame the idiot ebay buyers that fall for that BS. Bret martin, Roddy Stan is another. Great looking pretty pics, Dozens of the same "custom hand made" knives.
I am a nobody part time maker and am sure that these BS sellers have cost me sales. I used to cut file work on my soft blanks but then they look too Pac. A little spine grinding is an easy way to make a knife pop, but not if close to Bret or Roddy. While I am griping, I also thought that doing easy ladder pattern Damascus going to get a few sales... then "Bret" found out that ladder is easier than twisting hot metal.
Fleabay is now run by Cheap inports of anything you can think of.
