Before I spend time on the phone trying to figure this out does anyone have contact info for the north west rep for crucible?

Thats a good question. I searched their website and couldn't tell any district location so suggestion is call HQ in Syracuse NY to ask them

Crucible US
Headquarters Office
575 State Fair Blvd PO Box 977
Syracuse NY 13201
(315) 487-0800
(800) 365-1185
Fax: (315) 487-4028
crucible@crucible.com

Wish there had been a Washington or Alaska district office but none was listed.

Yea, same goes. Thakns for the help. It can be a pain calling NY from Alaska as our time zones are so far off. I'll get up tommarow and buzz them though. I figure on my next order I should start going direct.

I just purchased some CPM 154 from Crucible. I was referred to the Dallas center when the one in California closed down. Look for the Dallas info on their website and ask for Amy.

Great, thanks for the info. I figured they would deal with us "knife maker types" through there rep network but they probably pay those guys to much to deal with teh likes of me :P I'll call up the Dallas center tommarow instead of NY.

You'll be hard to find CPM metals sold cheaper anywhere else since they make them. I haven't compared their prices for any non-CPM steel. There is a $70.00 minimum order though so if you're looking to get a small piece of metal to try it out before you buy a larger quantity you might want to try some of the outher sources. Your cost per might be a little more but your overall cost will be less.

the reason why im asking is that i live about 4-5 hours away from dallas. shipping wouldnt be that much for me. at least i dont think it would be. im going to check out a few places in san antonio when i go there in a couple of days. need to pull some money from my account at one bank and deposit it into another bank so i can get the rest of the supplies for my forge and a few other things. like a belt grinder.

most of the stock that i have seen from crucible is not real forge friendly but i may not have looked all that hard since i have forged a hand ful of times only
not sure if that helps you pimpin

There shipping is dirt cheap and they are good to work with...I get mine from
TX....Ask for Bruce he is a really good guy and will treat you right
