Who is getting the Scrapyard SOD?

Not me. I'm not a friend of choils, and that thing has the Father of All Choils on it. Too little blade, too much choil. And I don't rightly fancy SR-77. INFI all the way.

I'm getting one of each. I really like my Dogfather and something a little smaller will be perfect for my wife. Of course that also means I'll have to sell more Plasma for a couple of the SFNO's when they're out.

The price is definitely right. I'll have to think about this one. How much longer will they be up?

I snagged 2 CG and an LE. I like the design and you can't beat the price! Of course I still want a SFNO when it comes out. As for how long the SODs will be available is anyones guess.

Too many things wrong with the design for me.

1. It's a Camp Tramp. I gut one of them.

2. Choil is funky.

3. Choil is WAAAY too far in front of the handle - you'll never choke up on it that far away.

Otherwise a nice knife. I've yet to really use a SR77 knife to see what it can do. I think I only have ONE in possession. (DMLE) Nice design on that one. Sliced my finger open when I got it. Plenty sharp. Have chucked it into a tree a few times. No real good use yet.

i ordered a couple...the design is a bit different but I'll probably end up liking it.

You can't beat it for the price.

I ordered one of each. I still love my Busses but if you eat filet mignon every day a pork chop or a chicken leg tastes damn good!!:foot:

Busse knives in general have huge choils, I don't think it's unique to the Yard...

Certainly true. But have you looked at the choil on that SOD? It's just plain enormous, and takes the cutting edge much too far away from the handle, in my opinion.

I have two en route.

Of course, if the NMSFNO turns out to be cheaper than I think it is going to be...I might have to try one of those as well.

For $120 and $160 bucks? Why not??

i bought a tan one.its my first oppertunity to finally get a scrapyard.my only question is i notice they went a little thinner on the blade compared to other knives they offer of this lenght. is this ment to be a lighter duty knife? i wonder how it will hold up for chopping and batoning and what not? i bought this knife so i could retirie my old reliable cold steel recon scout. will this knife be as durable?

The thing is 1/4 inch thick, its not for "light duty" by any means. It will probably take anything you throw at it and then smile at you. I'm guessing that since its a 7.5inch blade knife (camp knife??). .250 inch is more than enough for anything that you will do around the campsite. It will last you years after years so you shouldn't worry ^.^
