Who all is going to the NY show and what day are you planning on going? Looks like I might be going on Sunday.

I'm looking to be there midday Friday, if I can make it past the crush at the door

Friday-11am-as I've done for 21 years.
Of course Grnamin was ahead of me last year.
BTW-last year RJ Martin had BF nametags available-anyone gonna have them this year?

Darn it Donna, I was planning on being there every day but Sunday, and I was looking forward to meeting you. I was hoping to take off early from work on Friday, but it's a new job and I don't know if that's possible yet, and then go back again on Sat. Well maybe I'll make a special trip to be there again on Sun?

Well Sports Fans, if all goes as planned expect to see a crazy dude from Northeast Mississippi there on Friday.

I have an engagement just outside of Baltimore that Saturday, so I am popping up to meet Andy Prisco and be there at the opening bell.

Now I have never been to NYC before, for a long time I always thought it was this fictitious place on the TV. I am curious to see if it really exists.

I have spoken so someone from New York on the phone. I did not understand a word she said. I think she got mad when I asked her to slow down and said, "I bet you didn't have turnip greens for supper last night."

I may need a translator.

C,mon PhilL, you gotta be there Friday. I'm dying to see what a guy that says all the stuff to people you do in whine and cheese and chat looks like. Or do you just have internet cajones?
I'm sure this'll be ripped up in w&c but I'll be there in person. You've never said anything to me so don't take this as me looking for payback or anything like that, it's just my curiosity.
If you want to know who to look for, just click my link below

Stop your whinning I'll be there Friday.
Just so you don't feel left out MuscleHead I may as well insult you here. Don't bother looking for me I'll find you, I'll just look for a Coke machine with a head.

I used to be into all that weightlifting and bodybuilding stuff, and then I reached puberty. Now I get enough exercise just pushing my luck.

Cool PhilL. Just one thing-I very rarely get mad but dont ever call me a bodybuilder,ok? I am not one of the bikini and oil boys!
smile.gif

Hey, how come it's always the 95 lb pencilnecks or 350 lbers that say weightlifting is immature?
eek.gif

Powerlifting has taken me to parts of the world I never would have been to otherwise and has made me a few pesos besides.
PhilL, you know my original post was tongue in cheek, right?
We better add some knife content to this so does anybody know if Ed Fowler is gonna be there this year? Last year was the first in a long time he wasn't there.Gotta get me a pronghorn.
Anyway, see you there, and don't worry, I'll find you!

Ahhhh Donna, ya sure ya can't be there on Fri. packing heat? I think my alligator mouth just wrote a check my hummingbird a$$ can't cash. Hep me, hep me plaese!

(Phil, wanders around the show careful to avoid talking Coke machines, weilding 'pronghorns')

Nah PhilL, I can't get mad at you. You live in Bklyn, that's punishment enough. I work for the Daily News, we used to be on Pacific Ave near Flatbush and Atlantic, nice neighborhood!Besides, Tim needs somebody to play with.
Donna, was that you last year hanging out by Daniel Valois's table?(the guy who makes the buckle knives).
Ok, what's everybody gonna be looking to get?

Ill be at the show. Ill be getting in at 9am. Set up my table and then go around and buy all the good knives before the rest of you get in!

Thats my bonus for paying $600 for a 6 foot table, that I don't even get to keep after the show.

To think some people actually complain about the cost of custom knives!

By the way, the Sheraton is sold out of Show rate rooms (only $250 a night.. of course that doesnt include tax). Just think $800 for just three nights! To think some people actually complain about the costs of custom knives.

Once you figure in the cost of a plane ticket , food and taxi's. The average out of town table holder has to sell about $7,000.00 worth of knives to break even! Unless of course they bring their wife, then the break even point goes up.

To think, some people actually ask me if I would take less for a knife!

Kinda humorous isn't it!.

Fortunately, I always at least break even!

So now to the good stuff, Dave when and where are you going to kick Phil's butt? Could you wait till Sunday (the worst day of the show).
I have plenty of time then to get from behind my table.

Also, by Sunday you both will have spent all your money with me.

See You There!

Damn, next Les is going to be selling tickets to my a$$ whuppin.
Les, I'll tell you if there are any flies on you, they're paying rent?

Yep, we exist. I'm going to the show first time this year! (BTW I'm about to take delivery on my first full custom knife - It ships Monday!). Don't know what day I'm going. Maybe Friday, if I can get some time off from work (I work 9 blocks from the show)

Lifter4Him-
i don't know about Ed Fowler being there this year; i went last year and drooled over several items, and i met Ricky Fowler...bought my first custom knife. a modified fatboy tanto D2 with the most gorgeous handles. ya know how sometimes you find something that just seems made to fit your hand? that's how it was with this knife (i originally went there looking for a REKAT PioneerII, didn't plan on spending money on a custom piece, but what the heck); so i talked myself into buying it....Ricky Fowler and his wife are a class act; no pressure, he said just look at the pieces, you'll find a special one that's just made for you..
maybe i'll get there on one of the days (perhaps on the Friday)...
Does anybody have a list of the dealers and makers who will be there??

Oh yeah, I'll be there friday. Gotta remember my drool rag
wink.gif

Hey PhilL...didja write out a will? I'm kinda partial to stag too...nudge nudge
wink.gif

What I really need is a gameplan, something beyond 'wander, drool, indecision'
I guess that's the problem when your wish list is bigger than your wallet!
Ebbtide out.
