Just say the post on the Tracker knife and looked at the link to www.jenseneliteblades.com What a knife!! I have never heard of this maker yet his design is totally cool. What other makers do you think have remained somewhat anomimous, despite having totally wicked blades. BTW, that knife Jensen makes could be on my "most wanted list" AWESOME! Try to keep the makers within the tactical/practical type category. Thanks you guys.

Jensen Makes some killer knives, it is a little weird how no one ever mentions them.

You don't hear a lot about Charles Marlowe and he is making some outstanding knives, especially in the tactical folder category. His prices are very reasonable and very professional. Even though you don't hear a lot about Charles right now, you will.............believe me YOU WILL!:D

I have to agree on Marlowe, excellent knives at great prices. There's also the Jones Brothers(17 years experience), Ferret, and Mike Obenauf, great knives and good values. Bob Doggett's knives are well made and good values as well as Max Burnett(Ogg Knives). Robert Hankins seems to be another good value.

Jensen Knives do look good and have received good reviews.Maybe what's held them back is some bad past business dealings that you can search for on good, bad, and ugly. Hopefully for their sake, they've straightened out these situations.

Man, how could I forget Mike O.? Probably one of the best values out there!

Got to agree on the Jones Brothers. I've never had one of their knives but from what I've seen of them they are built as tough as any folder out there and these knives have a great design! Gotta get me a JB one of these days.

They are mentioned quite a bit in the Good, Bad, And Ugly forum. Just do a search. Hopefully they are straight now though

Of all the knife makers who work I own or have owned, I would rate Scott Sawby and Bob Lum as the most under rated. Their knives depart a bit from the norm as far as tacticals go. Sawby uses a unique lock on his combat utility and Lum uses oversize nail nicks instead of studs and discs on liner locks. Also, both of these makers are fairly pricey. That said, Sawby and Lum make great knives. I think that the Sawby combat utility and Lum Chinese in particular are great users if one is comfortable using an expensive knife. Check out some new Sawbys at www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com . If I had the cash, I would pick up both another combat utility in S30V (mine is beadblasted ATS-34) and I would get that new model made special for Les Robertson.

As for Mike Obenauf, i agree that he is a great maker, I have a framelock on order from him as we speak, but I don't see him as underrated. An underrated maker to me, is someone that is good but no one talks about. I think that Obenauf gets a great deal of press here (and he deserves it:D) that's why I named Lum and Sawby becuase they are not mentioned that often.

That variation on the Tracker knife by Jensen is nice looking, but might be infringing on the patents held by the The Tracker School -- it's pretty darn close in design. A high-quality knock-off?

Both of the Sawby knives are very nice looking knives and I really like the blade shapes. I would like to see the CU with a 3.75 to 4.0 inch blade on it and in the 3/16" stock! Now that would move me!!!

Andre De Villiers and other South African makers. ADV makes one of the smoothest frame/liner locks out there with nothing but top-notch materials and construction.

I have to agree about Andre De Villiers. I have one of his Exectac Spearpoints and I still want one of Pathfinders. De Villiers makes really sturdy folders that can definitely stand up to hard use.

I'd have to agree with everyone who said Charles Marlowe. After seeing one of his knives in Vegas, I had to contact him. I have now got my first custom folder in the works.

A while ago I made a post and asked if anyone had any experience with ICC knives. They are made by a Dennis Philips, I believe. My post had zero responses.

The models 5A1 and 5B1 can be seen at the link below. I think these knives are some serious pieces, and I always wondered why hardly anyone here has heard, or has mentioned, them. Check out these beasts; they are ATS-34 blades. Supposedly, other steel can be ordered upon request. The price is good, too. I describe these knives as Randalls on steroids.

I'll also cast my vote for Andre deVilliers and add two more...Peter Marzitelli and Farid...I am aware of some of the "controversies" but in my view, both of these guys make incredible knives...almost everyone I have shown my Farid to has been extremely impressed...

hey, don't forget about Gene Ingram. You can see his stuff in the exchange forum under fixed blades. His knives are first rate: beautifully ground, SHARP, tops fit and finish. The quality of a Dozier at half the price, and I think Dozier's are a steal.

Ruana. Great knives at excellent prices. They're a grand old name, that prefer to fly under the radar, and let their knives do the boasting for them:).

www.ruanaknives.com * .

Another maker I'm surpised you don't hear more about is Keith Kilby. He can forge a knife with the best of them:).

* I guess using some folks:rolleyes: standards, Ruana would be considered a small shop, but their knives are handmade, and very well done:D:).
