Who is using a lanyard?

I use a lanyard on all my knives that have a lanyard hole.
I tie a small hangmans knot out of 550 para cord. I tie it short enough so that I can have the coils butted up against the back of the knife,(so it doesn't flop over and get hit by the blade), and the loop is just big enough to comfortably slip my thumb through. Just in case i'm doing something with where I may drop it.

After lossing a few blades. I always use a lanyard in the field ,I carry my folders on my waist band and tie off on a belt loop, it is more dificult on a tip down like a Spydy military but I still do it .I use thin hemp string like for cooking, strong and easy to cut off . I learned in the military that what you don"t secure AND tie ,you lose . In the city day to day don"t bother
