There are a bunch of shows I watch with my son. My son loves Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern. Alton Brown took out a Kershaw to open a package.

I was watching a cooking show on TV briefly at the gym today, I don't know what the show was or who the cook/host was. This sort of... well... how shall we say this?... "slight" guy was talking about storing broccoli and how you should poke some holes in the bag to let air circulate. He pulled out this side-opening auto, opened it in full-auto mode, and poked the holes. It was brief and I was a bit stunned by it so I couldn't tell exactly what knife it was.

As for me? In my kitchen there is a sign that says, "WWJD." Below, in small print, it translates, "What would Julia do?" All of these TV cooks today are nothing compared to Julia Child. Julia could whip them all... and whip a dozen eggs at the same time.

It's not everyone whose kitchen gets declared a national treasure and put into the Smithsonian.

You forgot Ellie Krieger, she's one of my favorites right now along with Bobbie Flay. I've cooked more of Ellie's recipes over the last few months then any other chef's on TV right now.

Alton Brown reps Shun knives. No wonder he'd have a Kershaw.

My vote is for Bourdain. Anybody who can smoke and drink more than I can and still whip up a mean bernaise while suffering the effects of chronic sleep deprivation and a hangover is chef enough for me. Also he's very funny.

And you missed a key chef on your poll: Giada De Laurentiis. She's a good chef and extremely nice to look at.

If it ain't broccoli, don't fix it. Alton Brown, either a Kershaw or ZT, same knife he uses in Feasting on Asphault. That little gnome is hilarious.

IMO, Brown is the only chef worth watching. Why? Well, for one, he is very entertaining, but also, he's the only one that I know of who puts the recipes up on the screen.

I'm a Good Eats with Alton Brown, fan.

His show is entertaining and is done with Humor, from cooking tips to food history.

Myright, Does Ellie Krieger cook Cuban food?

Yeah, I should have gotten Giada instead of Martha>

I like Batali because I like that peasant-style cooking he does on MM - big food, big flavors, throw it all together and mangia. I also like the more refined dishes he does on Iron Chef. I have his NASCAR/tailgating cookbook.

I like Alton Brown a lot too. I appreciate his representations of the science of cooking.

Alton is my fav as far as mental entertainment. If I want to entertain my eyes, I like to watch Giada De Laurentiis

I have learned alot watching Bizarre foods. I never knew you could eat so many animals.

Alton Brown also uses Spydercos. He is very knowledgable....but I just can't stand his voice! Or is humor! I do watch Good Eats on occasion though. I saw him catch some Salmon the other night and smoke them in a cardboard box. It was pretty cool. I would like to make one to see if it works.

I honestly thought my 10 year old daughter was the only kid into cookbooks and cooking shows.Last night she helped mom make chicken curry , basmati rice and a mango chutney:D

Gordon Ramsay is definitely entertaining. "Hell's Kitchen" is one of the only shows I watch regularly. He doesn't do much cooking on it, but there's a clip on YouTube of him making scrambled eggs and the method he uses is fantastic.

Anthony Bourdain is cool too. His show is always interesting. I'm also a fan of Rick Bayless, because I like Mexican and some of his recipes are really simple and quick.
