Who Left Their Strider with TSA?

Here in Austin, TX they have a state surplus warehouse with surplus state office furniture and the like. They also sell the knives confiscated at the airport by TSA. BUCKETS upon buckets of SAKs for ~99c a pop. A SAK lover's dream. Most of them are beat up to hell but it's fun rifling through the thousands to find a good one. The nicer knives like Benchmade's are sold behind a glass counter for okay prices.

Whadya know they have a website now with some pictures

Piles of SAKs, piles of multitools!

Hey! I like that 100 HP Baldor Motor! under the Featured products. My grinder work fly with that bad baby hooked up to it!

Back in 2005, my daughter had a high school classmate that was just plain down on his luck. Single lower income kid from a dysfunctional family that had ended in a nasty divorce. He was just a sad kid that was now completely lost, and I felt bad for him.

He joined the Navy with high hopes that he would eventually get into the SEALSor some other special forces. He now had a future to look frward to and he was happy. I felt happy for him.

Before he left, I gave him my prized Sebenza, and he promised he'd take good care of it. He packed his bags, slipped the Sebenza in his back pocket, and headed to the airport. He promptly got in line, was patted down by the TSA, and allowed them to throw the Sebbie in the junk bin.

I've long since forgiven the kid, and thanked him for his service, but I'll never forget.......

I remember carrying a Benchmade Panther while flying all over the planet....and it's hard to look back and believe it now....like I was dreaming.

I hope I'd never forget I was carrying at an airport or someplace I could lose a knife. Boot carry worries me most.

That's the saddest story I've ever heard.

that sucks. I read a story about a guy who forgot his xm18 was in his pocket and didn't have time to run all the way to the car..... he buried it outside of the airport and it was still there when he came back haha
