Who Like the Bowie Knife I made?

I'm almost double your age, but nothing about that says Bowie knife to me. More of a bush clearer/machete.

It looks cool, and if you keep up working on blades, you can have a good career as a knife maker.

My best advice, handle and use as many blades as possible, figure out what works, and why or why not.

Don't give up, and never hesitate to ask for advice or help.
 
I wouldn't call it a Bowie, either, but it looks like a pretty darned good camp knife.

Great job, Anthony! It looks like you have a future in blades.

I say well done young man. The blade looks like it has a nice curve to it. What are the dimensions?

No doubt. If this is what you're doing at 14, I figure in 10-15 years lots of people here will be talking about and showing off their latest Strazhnikov customs. :thumbup: Well done. :cool:
 
Whether it's a bowie or not (prolly not) its very cool. You are doing very cool things at your young age.

Changes? If you want it more bowie-like, maybe a clip point and a guard would get it there. Either way, especially at your age just have fun and hone your craft. I don't make knives, so past that I can't really give much advice. Keep up the good work!

I much prefer seeing this to some bratty kid who's already got a sebenza like I usually see around here. Any of you kids with expensive fancy knife collections in your teens, this kid here's winning!

I wonder what a bowie is...
 
I like the forward slant of the handle scales where they meet the ricasso. Nice aesthetic.
It's got a very rugged, rustic kinda thing going for it.
Whether or not it's a Bowie, I'm sure someone fighting for their life in the Alamo would have loved to wield it!
 
I like the tapering shape of the bevel!

Its very functional : Near the handle you have a sharper bevel for cutting and the last 3rd of the blade has a more robust bevel for chopping....
 
How long is the blade? It looks like it has the right proportions for a sword, it just needs a guard for that purpose. But nice lines.
