Who likes SOG's but not AUS-6

Thank goodness SOG doesn't do that "surgical" crap. :) That's reserved for mystery grade 400 series stainless steel. Usually, el crappo steel the manufacturer wants to "puff up" with the "surgical steel" label. SOG uses a great medium grade stainless steel (AUS6) on some of its knives and very properly heat treats it, making it a grade above the rest.

For all the rest of the "steel snobs," :) we have AUS8, ATS-34, BG-42, and SK-5 in an assortment of knives.

Something for everyone.

Hey guys spare a little thought for us Aussies. I just bought a SOG Mini Tsunami, price $167 Australian. I have been quoted $300 for a Seal 2000. Imagine if the SOG knives were made from another higher grade steel. How much would we be paying over here. I for one am glad to pay for a quality product. I am even more impressed that someone from SOG takes the time to chat with his customers. I will certainly be buying more SOG knives and call me nuts but I will pay the $300. And just a short post script. My SOG out cuts another manufacturers AUS8 blade!
