Who Loves a HAWKBILL, or Who Loves BEAKS, or PRUNERS????

These knives get regular use in my gardens, mostly by my better half! The Ulster, third picture, is the favored piece. Some of these were posted in a similar thread a couple of months ago but 'What The Hey':

Great Knives!

My two hawkbills.

Top one is a A. Field & Co. Progress.

The bottom one, the linoleum knife I just picked up today. The tang just says Sheffield England. The blade has the same stamp on both sides. I like it!

Wow, great find Ken

Sorry about that, I normally label them. Top to bottom:

I think there's some info on the unusual two-blade in the thread I posted about it http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1081837-Odd-Two-blade-Friction-Folder

I picked up an A. G. Russell Beak a couple years ago, and I love the design. It makes quick work out of kitchen duty, and will cut carrots without launching them across the counter, as the edge is ground so thin. No way it rides in the pocket, so it sits in a Nylon belt sheath.

Here's A. G.'s pick of the pocket beak (a bit smaller than the original), as the full-sized is out of stock these days. Wish I had a pick of the spine, as it's just about as thick as the one posted above.

Thanks for the comments on the Lancaster Linoleum Knife.

I posted on the B. L. forum to see is anyone would have any additional information on the possible manufacturer. Might be difficult though.

Thanks,

Ken K.

See, there's some nice beaks out there! A lot i've never seen before. I've gone from seeing my first pruner and asking wtf is that?... to actually wondering when I'll find another;)

I hope this thread continues though because they are worth collecting and very affordable

Great knives everyone.

I like Hawkbills and have a few in my collection. These two were made by Harrison Bros and Howson of Sheffield. The first with rosewood scales dates to circa 1880s and the second with stag scales circa 1920s.
