I know I certainly do!

After learning about bush shirts, and particularly Swanndri, from Gundy's thread, I decided to do a little shopping. Most Swanndri stuff was either was down southward, or in the UK. But then, oh joy of joys, I stumbled on one of these:

The lady who had it for sale must not have known what it was, because the word "Swanndri" was not in the description, just "New Zealand Wool Coat" and stuff like that. Brand new, these things are $249 NZD, and this one had a Buy It Now price of $45 USD!! So needless to say, I snatched that right up!

Sorry for the "tooting my own horn" thread, but I needed to tell someone, and frankly I dont think my own family cares to much.

But I'm so pumped. This coat will be just the thing for camping and working outdoors in the fall and winter.

Oh, and I also hear the Swanndri is the only thing Ray Mears will wear. Anyone else heard this?

I know what you mean.

In the past few years, I've got a SOG NW Hunter for $28.00

A Used Buck 185 Buckmaster LT for $35 (The seller called it a "BUKE nife"

I just got a used Russell skinner that I'm going to make my Nessmuk from, for $12.

(all those numbers don't include shipping)

i'm fairly new to ebay.... but i have scored some cool stuff so far.... my father in law, just got an awesome custom longbow, at a great price...:D

Great find Dr. Thor! Congrats!

I do like ebay, and for the most part, I have had great luck. Without ebay, I would have never found my Becker BK5 Magnum Camp Knife. And I found it after Camillus closed its doors. For a good price, too!

I do love ebay. bought quite a few things on there. one of my best buys was a Bailey Bradshaw stag handle lockback folder for $32 shipped. it had one light scratch on it!

Good score Dr. Thor. Most of my great scores come from garage sales, but I still like ebay, cuz there are still some good deals to be had.

Both my compound bows: 1 used, 1 NOS. About 60 and 80 bucks respectively IIRC.
RC stuff and DVDs/games too (too many to count!) Ebay wouldn't be nearly as great without PayPal though!

I rarely shop in regular stores anymore. I can usually find what I want via Ebay, thrift stores and yard sales.

I gave a friend a ride last night and dropped into a local thrift store to find a North Face Nuptse 700 down jacket for $35. I gave it a quick wash and dry and it looks like new. Thats $199.00 at REI.

I have found that PURCHASING from ebay is usually great, I have scored tons of great stuff...most recently my UK made bushcraft knife for under $250. but that was the most I have ever spent on Ebay...5-6 Bark Rivers, at pretty good prices to. I did get the shaft when I was a newbie to selling over the internet...I sold overseas, and lost a Gerber BMF to the winds...OH well, you live and learn. Gene
