Who loves the Spydie Lum

Its not a knife for everybody and that's fine I was just saying I had a change of mind and now I love the darn thing.

I have the Glass fiber one and it is a gorgeous blade. It feels really good in my hand although the liner on the locking side protrudes a little further than the scale which sorta bugs me. It is the smoothest and one of the sharpest spydies out of the box that I have ever owned. That being said i'm not crazy about the glossy scales and i'm going to sell mine. If it was Ti I would never put it down.

I've been looking at the fiber one. I've currently thinking about a camo para also.

I have the large lum Chinese. In hand it's a great and useful looking blade. In pocket it takes up way too much pocket real estate due to the wide profile when closed. I think the smaller Chinese would fit well in pocket.

I love it! I've wanted one for years, and finally got a good deal on a large one. It's larger than I expected, though, so I'll probably look to trade it for a smaller one.

As far as the Lum Chinese vs the Shilin Cutter...
they are both beautiful knives as far as I'm concerned. In a perfect world, I would want one with round handles like the Shilin, but with the profile of the Lum so that there are no sharp edges when closed. I'd also like a different locking mechanism, since liner locks are not my favorite, but now were talking crazy!

Back to the important stuff...Its not pink, its SALMON! :D

Hey KnifeCrazied: How do you think it handles and cuts as a regular edc-knife?

I absolutely love it for everything. As I've stated I normally switch knives on a daily basis just to rotate but today makes day 9 of me carrying it. I am beyond shocked that I've carried it this long. I love the size, feel, grip, smoothness, just everything about it.

Got the pink Lum for my gal because of this thread, and it's my first Spyderco. Well, hers, but the first one I ever played with. Freaking awesome shape, form, fit, and finish. Love the ergos, love the broad blade, buying a G10 or fiber version for myself.

Hell, I may even get another pink one!

Thanks, Knife Crazied! Couldn't have done it without ya :)

I really want the Ti Lum Chinese, it was such a nice smaller folder. I had one, was strapped for money and I sold it. :(

Are the newer G10 versions the only ones that are so large, then? Damn, now I need TWO more...

You're right, Ti would be better - It's the weight! The handle is too light! I think that the centre of gravity is too far forward on this design. The pinkie and ring finger don't have much handle to work with, and the CoG doesn't naturally put the knife into them either. imo For best control the index finger should be relatively unburdened. Got the Caly 3.5 along with this one and it handles like a dream, follows through on the promise of what Delica and Endura should have been.

I might get the Large Lum. ... just occured to me the carbon fiber lum could be referred to as: CF Lum CF :D

Ya a little more weight in the hand would have been nice. I was lucky enough to grab a Caly3 before they went out of stock at warriorsandwonders. I now what ya mean it's a suped up Delica with a choil. One of my favs for sure. The Lum tanto interests me but I can't bring myself to buy anymore VG10..

W&W still has caly3, or at least caly3 CF ZDP-189. Knifeworks sold out theirs during their sprint-run-Para2-feeding-frenzy. CS still has them dangling...
Lum tanto is a beautiful knife and yeah it could have been done in something super... perhaps Super Blue, since it was made in The East. Or there's this... http://www.cutleryshoppe.com/lfti760bklumbk1coatedcpm-m4plainedgeblade.aspx
