Who made the best factory folders ever?

Hey Thombrogan,

You know that I have a great deal of respect for you, but you really need to proofread your posts. You mistyped, it should read "Benchmade 705 ." :D

Victorinox Wenger Opinel for consistancy and quality over the long haul. Schrade is best bang for the buck. Spyderco for leading the charge into a new era.

The R.E.K.A.T Carnivore continues to astound me. The fit and presision are great. If I have met minimum standards for being a swell guy this year, maybe Santa (or Mrs Santa ;) will drop off a Pioneer II

The Greco Falcon is one falcon nice knife too!

Sebenza, whether it's large or small, regular or classic, the Sebbie is the best hands down.

Dave,

There's a chance that we're both wrong.

First off, there's that new Benchmade/Blackwood collaboration in the works. Secondly, there's Extrema Ratio's line of folders. Both the 705 and 921 will outslice them, but probably won't outlast them.

gentlemans folder - William Henry hands down
hard use folder - Microtech SOCOM or the old standard Buck 110

Chris Reeve Knives and Victorinox are the best I've seen.
I've never handled one of the William Henry offerings, so I can't comment. If their reputation is what it seems, they should rank at least in the top three.

Considering cost and quality of the knives (not in order)
1) Benchmade 750 Pinnacle (PE)
2) Spyderco Police (G-10 and CF, PE)
3) Al Mar SERE 2000

I personally think that they are all work-horses, looks great and cheap enough so that you'll really use them.

I love my Sebbie too but I ain't going to treat/use it like those 3 knives above.

Sean

I would definitely go with the pre 1970's case stockmans, or the barlows for that matter!!!
