And my new knife has arrived!
I got this from Mike Latham at Collectorknives.net, a Bulldog Brand swell-center whittler made by Queen Cutlery, year 2008. 3.5" closed length, blades in 1095, stag handle, nickel silver bolsters and liners. And made in the USA of course. It has the materials I was looking for and a nicely proportioned design. No blade etchings, which I find a good thing, not too excited about excessive writing on my knives.
I'm liking this a lot! Good materials and workmanship and it's really comfortable and classy. I think this will make a great little knife to have around for all the daily cutting jobs. New and shiny now, but a couple of years of pocket carry and use and it should have a pretty good worn and patinated look to it I hope.
Here's a pic from the spring side, no wedge there but a tapered spring design. Pretty clever and compact. Good action and snap on the blades.
Overall, looks to be a good purchase. Mike was a great guy to deal with, many thanks to him. Now I'll just need to put a fine edge on the blades and start using it as intended.
