I want to make knives, but lack the grinders and all.

Bob Engnath is gone.

So, who do I turn to, who makes blanks that just need to be surface worked and handles added?

Anybody know of makers who do this?

Will those makers work with exotic materials like talonite and titanium?

Thanks in advance.

I wrote a review of the Kasper AFCK variant, an interview of Bob Kasper, and some thoughts and brainstorms of the AFCK in general. It can be found at http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000568.html . Check it out and tell me what you think.

Both Jantz and K&G Supply have very nice blanks. Both have web wites, though I don't have the site addresses handy. They both have ads in BLADE.

Also check out A&N Blades in Tucson, AZ. Don Norris runs the operation and has some Engnath designs in the catalog. The whole catalog and price list is online with lots of bowies but also plenty of hunters, including integrals. All cast D-2 (smaller blades) and 440C (bowies).

Hope this helps,

I would actually think that just about any custom knife maker would. I mean, you get all the fun of grinding it but none of the bothersome finishing work. IMO of course. This of course would probably only apply to FB's though. I've never heard of any people who sell folder kits.

Sincerely,
Adam
