Blade and scales made from solid D2 or similar character steel

Can be Axis or frame lock

As far as I know knife frames are never really made of materials knife blades get made from.

I am thinking that the OP has a knife with a "D2" blade and he likes it. Due to this a knife made completely of "D2" would be "better".

OP: I have a few questions

1) What is it that you like about D2 that makes you think it would be better for handles than another option?

2) What other folders do you have?

3) Why do you want a knife made completely of D2?

I’m with the dogpile on this one. I can’t see why anyone would bother making scales from D2.

I know I don't need a crap load of knives but it's cool to have them all.

Or he works in a shop with d2 as a common steel and it would be a conversation piece. IDK.

Sounds like a bad idea to me....but I'm sure you could find someone to do it for you if you paid them.

To my knowledge no one ever has made scales out of D2 simply because it's not a great material to be making scales from. If you want hardened steel scales I'd certainly pick something more corrosion resistant than D2.

To be fair...I never really understood the love a lot of people have for D2.

I'm on the books for a DDR custom AAM balisong. I'm the only guy who wants steel handles. Spoke to his son and they're gonna use CPM154 for blade and milled channel handles. It's just what they happened to have on hand in the dimensions necessary.
