Which company (not custom) makes the best vg10 knife?

My guess would be spyderco. But what about kizer, boker and sog?

Al Mar, Kershaw, Mcusta, Fällkniven, and so many other companies that make good blades out of VG10. Best is a subjective term. What you find to the the best might be someone else's "junk". I like VG10, but I don't love it by a long shot. I prefer other steels to it, 20CV, CTS- BP75, XHP, and S90V are a few to name. As for VG10 Spyderco does have a lot of knives made from it and they sell a whole bunch of them so that would be my choice.

I guess "best" for me would mean an exceptional heat treat with good blade geometry. I assume, like other steels, that some companies ht at lower/higher levels than others and eventually a consensus is formed on which is better. Who's that for vg-10?

Honestly of the vg10 knives I've owned there's no discernible difference between them. I can tell you from experience, Kizers and Spydercos vg10 is awesome. I think its a great steel. Not a super steel, buts its just a well rounded knife steel.

I'm not a Spyderco guy at all.

That being said, their VG-10 is top notch. Al Mar's is also awesome.

I don't know who makes the best, but I suppose that'd be subjective.

VG-10 takes a great edge, holds it for an adequate time, and is easy to re-sharpen. Easily one of my favorite steels.

Couldn't agree more with that statement.

I wish i had more experience with it. My only VG10 knives are Spyderco, and it's one of my favorite "all around" steels. I just don't know if that's because of the amazing way Spyderco makes it, or if it's just that good from everyone. I can say though, nothing I have gets sharp like my Delica...

I'm not much of a folder guy.

I do have Spyderco in VG-10. I like it. The wood seen here is cherry.

I also have a Fallkniven A1 in straight VG-10 it performs well too. And I have several laminated VG-10 Fallknivens. The have been stellar performers for me.

I like the steel. I have used it year round, outside, in temps to -30F with no ill effects. Not a new super steel, but solid, tough, and low maintenance.

I think you could do a lot worse,
