Who makes the smoothest folder you've handled? >>

Out of my meager collection--and limited experience--I have a Benchmade Snody 426 "Hybrid Tactical" that seems to move on a cushion of air. I've honestly not felt anything smoother.

I handled a few spendy ones that were just as smooth, but have yet to come across one smoother and lighter to open.

Best,

Heekma

My Benchmade 940 and believe it or not my Byrd Cara Cara FRN. Both are incredibly smooth to open and close. My Spyderco Sage 2 would be a close third.

I've got many William Henrys and CRKs that are all smooth wonderful knives but this P-38, made by MS Mike Vagnino, is far and away the smoothest folder I've ever handled.

You're in New York, eh? I'm pretty sure your knife is illegal there now so you'd better just send that baby over to me just so everything is on the up and up with the long arm of LE.
What a beaut of a knife.

SMR 939, if I don't count BMs with the pin held back (i.e., compared to them without holding the pin back, the 939 is smoother). That's despite a bank vault lockup.

I am a fixed blade aficionado (make/collect/use). I recieved my most expensive folder today a BM/Sibert 755. The lock-up/release and opening are the smoothest I have experienced on a factory folder.

The Spyderco Gayle Bradley is probably the smoothest opener in my arsenal. Not sure why that is, but it be the truth. The BM 710 is probably next.

Sage1. For some reason, both of my Sage1's are smoother than the Sage2. It's hard for me to imagine a knife being any smoother but I won't go as far as to say it isn't possible.
Smooth as glass doesn't even describe how it feels. Almost hydraulic feeling.
The Military is close behind and might end up just as smooth in time.
I've found a drop of 15W40 Mobil1 synthetic does wonders.
