That sounds really easy. How big of a screwdriver/cordless drill did you use? I have a 9.6 volt dewalt. I'm guessing it would have to be set on the lower of the 2 speed settings. It has an adjustable clutch to, should that be set at the lowest to avoid tearing out?

Fix it right the first time, use Baling Wire !

Tbark, what kind of cutting fluid do you use, or do you just dry tap em?? Thanks! Michael

I normaly just use lite cutting oil like tap-magic

I posted that one several months ago.

I use a Skil Plus rechargeable screwdriver. It works great up to 4 x 40. For larger taps up to 10x32 I use a 9 volt rechargeable drill. For the really big taps I use a 19 volt drill. Taps last longer, especially the smaller ones and you don't break them as often.

I guess someone will ask - why don't you get a Tapmatic for the drill press? Just been doing it so long this way and if it's not broke, why fix it?

Mike, I use Winbro Tap Free, but I don't think you can buy it any longer.

Les halpern is the one who told me about it I just use a cheepo black and decker bottom of the barrel job it does fine for me
