Who offers the most lefty friendly options?

Apparently the Victorinox one handed Trekker is a lefty configured linerlock as well... who knew?

There is no doubt that the axis lock and spyderco's compression lock are best I've used being a lefty (even more so than dedicated left handed framelock's), but to each their own. If you're excluding those and lockback's, then you are pretty much limited to left handed framelocks, fixed blades, slipjoints, OTF's, and left handed automatics.

Spyderco, Protech, WE knives, Kizer, Southern Grind, and Bestech all come to mind when thinking about companies that offer fully left handed folders that are below sebenza pricing.

If $300 is the limit I think it'd be worth saving an extra $75 for a small Sebenza or Inkosi. Larges could be found close to that price point used and smalls even cheaper. He'd probably be more willing to put it to work if it already has wear on it too.

If he ever decides to branch out into fixed blade lefties, he should email Palli knives to find out what they have in stock in left handed knives.

I hadn’t even thought of autos...knowing my friend, I think I know how this is going to end :D

thank you everyone for your time

Fellow lefty and tell your friend I appreciate his desire for left hand specific knives!
  • In addition to all that has been mentioned - Southern Grind makes a left hand Spider Monkey
  • I think Dcdavis Dcdavis has lots of CRK at work pics! Too bad your friend is worried about buggering it up, CRK would be my first suggestion.
  • I recently picked up my first LH PM2 and even if he thinks it's ugly - it is a fantastic knife.
CRKs are best buggered up in my opinion

Here's what I can come up with for lefty and full ambidextrous knives that are (fairly) recent. Some you may have to wait for when the company does a production run, or look around the secondary market.

Kizer- Gemini, Megatherium, Sheepdog
WE- Chimera
Bestech- Malware, Ghost, Kendo, Kombou, Horus. (all are discontinued I think. So you'd have to look around)
Emerson- CQC-7, Commander
Spyderco- Paramilitary2, Military
DPX- HEST
CRK- Most models (might not find any under $300)
Liong Mah- KUF2, Warrior2 V3 (both well over $300 though)
Drop (AKA Massdrop)- Gavko Thresher, Zinker Dogtooth Liner lock
Pro-Tech- TR-3, Half Breed, Godson, Newport, Godfather. (all autos)
Microtech- All the Dual action OTFs are ambidextrous.
Cold Steel- AD-15
Buck- Marksman
Southern Grind- Spider Monkey

Value wise my recommendations would be the Kizer Gemini, Southern Grind Spider Monkey, and any of the automatics from Pro-Tech or Microtech (if legal)

His life would be a lot easier if Benchmades were on the list.

Hogue OTF has a reversible clip. It's fantastic.

Thank you for the time it took to type that out. I sent him a link to this thread to sort thru...he’s overwhelmed with all the options :D
The autos are first on his list, he wasn’t aware he could legally carry one, and they aren’t my thing, so your suggestions definitely helped. I’ll let you all know what he decides to buy.
Again, thanks everyone for the help

Buck Vantage. I'm a lefty, and these are available in many different variations, 2 sizes, used and new. Pocket clip is reversible for lefty carry. The ones on the right are paperstone sides, and Bucks 420HC steel. Got them from Makael, another BF member. The top two on the left I got direct from Buck and have S30V blades, and G10 sides. Here is a pic of some of mine...

If he's going to be using it for things that would booger it up, an OTF may be more trouble than he wants. Even the best OTFs are finicky about gunk, and Microtech especially makes it as hard as possible for you to do maintenance on their knives.

He’s looking at a couple protechs, I talked him out of the OTFs. This won’t be a overly hard used knife, basic day to day stuff, and sharpening pencils on the job site lol

DA OTFs are ridiculously fun to fidget with. They do still give people the heebie geebies at first, but after the initial shock, most will ask "can I check that out?" A purple, blue, or orange color handle on a UTX 85 would be less intimidating if he really likes them.
For plain EDC, you can't go wrong with the TR-3 or Newport from Pro-Tech
