Who prefers a half-stop on their folders?

I have more half stops, but like cam tangs better. Much easier to open one handed!

I have a elephant/steel toenail from gec, and an AG Russell large sod buster, both with strong springs.

Both Are able to be opened and closed one handed, even with the strong springs.

I like the half stop on my GEC 73 mainly because the pull is so crazy strong. Pretty sure it might take my finger off when closing without it.

The springs on my Chestnut Bone Mini Trapper are STIFF, so the half stops give me a chance to readjust and use my fingers instead of my nail to get it open. On stiff sprung knives, they are convenient and probably add a measure of safety. Wouldn't be a dealbreaker if I found a knife I liked and it did or didn't have them, either way.

One of my best clients hates half stops, I also take a pretty fair amount
of orders for NO half stop. That being said most of the knives I make have
them. The one I carry? no half stop.

I was starting to feel like a odd duck one handing a slip joint. And I may be, but I am not the only one:D

No preference. Actually, I like that some of my blades have half stops and some don't. My whittlers have both half stop and non half stop blades on the same knife. I like them just fine too.

I prefer my knives without a half stop but I own quite a few with this feature and it would not stop me from getting a knife I really like.

I like all my half-stop knives better, but I don't have any nicer cam tang knives, all the ones I have are Case knives with weakish springs. Never tried a really nice stiff spring cam tang knife, but would like to.

I used to prefer half stops, but then got a few really nice knives with the cam tang and that changed my mind. As long as they have a good snap opening and closing, I think I prefer knives without half stops, now.
