Who produces the best G10?

Yea... sorry.. Josh K is right... it's all relative to your perspective of what makes it the "best". The best can be different for different folks for different reasons... thus why options exist.

Correct, because there is none.

I don't mean to sound like a philosopher, but like no one in the world is able to claim to be knowledgeable enough to know everything. The difference between individual is only more or less, it is relative. Things like this is a myth that in progress to be discovered. Your answer may only be true if it was limited to only commercially available known knife materials.

Constrain the options to existing substances please. ;)

Define the parameters further than 'a knife' and the best will be pretty obvious. There is no 'best' mode of transportation, firearm, hand tool, pair of shoes, etc, until you give some parameters. Then, a truck becomes better than a sedan, a rifle is better than a pistol, a wrench is better than a hammer, running shoes are better than bluchers, and so on. The answers can be flipped when the parameters change, but the fact is still that some choices are superior to others, otherwise we wouldn't have to bother with choices to begin with.

Hey cziv, hows that naked blade coming? :)

It's still sitting here. :o I have to make almost an hour round trip to the closest store that has that Bix remover. There's a lot of different ones here locally but I don't know if they'll do the job or not.

Sand paper and elbow grease are more readily available....

Or... perhaps I just want to put you through the same torment I went through before knowing the Bix worked...

To be honest, I'm not sure which finish I like better. I don't mind the work, my gray Scotchbrite pads would probably rub the faces off Mt. Rushmore! :D

I've been too busy doing other stuff to do anything with it. I don't like fooling with chemicals either, so I may just tear into it this weekend and go for satin finish.

I did one of my Izulas last weekend and it's nice and shiny but it exposed a lot of flaws and discolorations in the blade steel. The CS steel looks much cleaner under the coating.

I generally prefer Kershaw because they're the most likely to do 3D g10 machining, although Benchmade does it occasionally.

Bark River. Their smooth, polished, rounded handles are the only G10 ones I've found that don't feel like I'm holding a lump of concrete instead of a knife.

I went on the McMaster-Carr website and found Document 8549KAC. I believe the Mil Spec G10 is the FR4 version
